The pattern for the Vintage Schnibble this month is Dulcinea. It is a very sweet double pinwheel quilt and Carrie (of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.) has some really clever tips for making the blocks consistent~ they join together like a dream!
I used a couple charm packs from Connecting Threads for my version. These are from an older line and the charms from CT don't always have 40 charms/pack. They are packaged as one charm of each print in the line~ so sometimes you have 20, somethings 17 etc. With the charms I had, I needed to make a little smaller version of Dulcinea, but I do love how it turned out! I used a FQ to make my borders, which was just perfect as that was all I had of coordinating fabric. :-o LOL
Be sure to check out Sherri and Sinta's blogs on Monday for the parade. I've seen a few popping up in blogland and I can say it is going to be a wonderful parade!
Until next time~

Christmas Through the Year
Can you believe June is nearly over? I can't!! But I've been keeping my hands busy and have a small pile of crocheted dish cloths to add to my CTTY basket. :-) I love these things!
I think there are 10 in the pile and I've made a few more since the photo was taken. Next month I hope to have as much success making net scrubbies to go with all the dish cloths.
Many thanks to Anthea of Hibiscus Stitches for continuing CTTY for us!
Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

A New Quilt~
Last week I spent some time quilting a top I had been 'storing'. :-o I just quilted an all-over stars and loops design for this one, and I let hubby choose the backing since this is kinda 'his quilt'. ;-)
This is actually the 2011 HGTV BOM and we called it 'Stars in the Barn Door'. I drew up all the 6 inch blocks in my EQ7 program and presented them every month, then drew up the way I wanted to finish my quilt too. I love how it turned out (and hubby does too) ;-)
The quilt measures 90.5 x 90.5 inches.
The backing is from Connecting Threads. :-)
This is my first patriotic quilt, but it won't be the last! I love decorating the house for holidays!
Thanks for stopping by~
Until next time

Fun Sewing~ part 2
Thank you for your wonderful comments on my bag. :-) I had a little problem with Yahoo and some of my replies to your comments bounced back to me... a glitch in the system? I just wanted you to know I did appreciate each and every one of your comments! YOU are what keeps me blogging! :-) And your friendships mean the world to me!
Now for the other pattern I tested~ :-)
Bexley Square is such a neat quilt. The pattern has both a boy version and a girl version, I did the girl version. It is jelly roll friendly, so I used a jelly roll I had from Eleanor Burns~ it was just the right florally, girly, romantic touch for me. :-) And the periwinkles, pinks and coral colors are so fresh in real life.
I'm not sure why that photo turned, or why it is so dark. Must've been a rainy day. :-/
It is approx 72.5 x 88.5 inches.
I used a vintage sheet on the back and quilted it with an allover large swirly flower design. I want to thank Amy at katicupcake for trusting me with her wonderful pattern! It was fun, easy and I just love my new quilt!
That's all for today~ I just finished quilting another top, so maybe I'll have photo's after the weekend. ;-)

Today~~
I'm blogging today at Clover & Violet as part of their summer series~
My blog post is about crocheting~ something I find is very easy to do in the summer!
I'm making dish cloth's and scrubbies~
I wanted to add one thing here~ I cut my nylon net lengthwise to get longer strips. This is 3 yards, folded and cut. I use the clothes pins to keep it all together until the next time I need more strips. I have also cut the netting across too (selvage to selvage, but netting doesn't really have a selvage) I found that if I cut it horizontally, I get a softer scrubby, and when I cut the length, the scrubby is a little stiffer. ;-)
I got my netting at JoAnn's, they have it on sale now. ;-)
Thanks for stopping by~ and be sure to visit Clover and Violet today too! :-)

Fun Sewing!
Awhile back when I wasn't blogging a lot, I was busy with some fun sewing. (ok, I know I haven't been blogging really regularly for quite some time, but this week is going to be a winner! LOL)
Anyway, I had the best time doing a little pattern testing... for katicupcake... squeeeeeaaallll!!! I just love all of her designs so when I got the email asking if I would be interested in doing a little testing, I was beyond thrilled! I know, not everyone thinks testing a new pattern is fun, but I do! I love the challenge! And honestly, it really wasn't a challenge to make up Amy's patterns. She has a very easy writing style. No matter how complicated a pattern looks, she takes you through the steps one by one and they just all fit together to make something you never dreamed you could make! For example, one of her new patterns is called 'carry on bag'. Looks complicated, doesn't it? Its not. It is a little time consuming, but if you follow the pattern step by step, it is very doable.
I just love all the pockets in this bag. It holds a lot for your next trip, plus there is a place for everything! The clasp is fun too. I already have another set of fabrics set aside to make one for my quilt retreats. :-)
The back~
I know my fabric looks a little wild in the photo's, but in real life it is just perfect. ;-)
I was also lucky enough to test a quilt pattern. Fun! Fun! Fun! :-) I will show you that later this week. :-)
Tomorrow I will be blogging at Clover & Violet for the Season By Hand series, but I will also have a little bit to show here.
Have a happy day!
*note~ the fine print. Amy didn't ask me to blog about my bag, I wanted to show you! My opinions are strictly mine.
