~Sewing Party~ part 2

I had such FUN sewing! :-) I made components until I ran out of light squares...

Now I just need to trim the rectangles and sew them together and then I can make blocks. I think I made too many green/light 4 patches, so may have to make more of the other components to go with them. ;-)

I'm extending my party until tomorrow night. LOL

Hope y'all had a great day too! :-)

It's A Sewing Party!

I'm ready for some FUN! :-)  That's my word, and as soon as I brush the cobwebs off of my sewing machine~yes, its been that long! :-/ ~ I plan to have a little fun!

Kelly and Kris are the hostesses for this Sewing Party and you can read all the details on Kelly's blog.

I plan to turn this pile of cut squares and rectangles into blocks today. :-) They are components to the Piece and Goodwill quilt I blogged about last year. Yes, I know I was supposed to be using them as leaders/enders but they were 'put in a safe spot' when we moved and they just showed up! :-o Yikes.  Do you do that? Please say yes! :-))

I'll be back to show you my progress~ Let's have some FUN! :-)

~Thimbleberries Sew Day~

Sorry I never got back yesterday! :-/ I did sew~ hand stitching last night around the appliques. It was such a gorgeous day yesterday that I spent too much time out in the yard. :-o  This is what I worked on~

I know Bridget B at Granny Quilts finished a beautiful table runner.  Anyone else sew?

Next month I hope to be more organized. ;-)
Until next time~

Just Two More Sleeps~

Did you count time by 'sleeps' with your kids? We did. When they were excited for Christmas or their birthday, they would ask how many more 'sleeps' before the event. LOL

Well there are just 2 more sleeps until Thimbleberries Sew Day! :-) Wednesday is our next sew day! Won't you join us?  You can work on a Thimbleberries pattern, or use some Thimbleberries fabric in whatever pattern you choose, or just 'think Thimbleberries' and come sew with us! Let me know and I'll make a list of everyone sewing so we can visit each other. :-)

Until Wednesday~
Happy Stitchin'!

A Bit of Stitching~

Sorry I haven't been posting much~ I'm in a slump.  :-/  I do have a few finishes to share though~

I got my table runner finished from the BE Mine Blog Tour. Sherri shared this pattern.  If you didn't make it around to see all the great projects in the tour~ there is still time before Valentine's day! :-)  I just loved the runner and tree skirt that Kim from Kim's Big Quilting Adventure presented.  I plan to make them too. ;-)

I also finished my Mon Ami for this month. The pattern is a wall hanging by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co and is the Le Petite project for January. Well, I made the stars and then just couldn't help myself!  :-o  I saw placemats! LOL I made 3 inch stars and I still have a few left~ I'm thinking hot pad or mini wall hanging to go with my placemats~?  Gosh, I hope they don't kick me out of Le Petite for changing it so much! :-o

What are you working on? I need my mojo back!  I did manage to make a couple string blocks for a swap~ but there is so much more I need to do!~ :-/

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

CW blocks

Have you seen Barbara Brackman's new Civil War Quilts blog?  She presents a block a week along with a true story of someone who lived during the Civil War.  I wavered on doing the blocks but finally decided to go ahead. The blocks were easy and I'm glad I decided to start the journey!  The blog posts are very interesting.

Here are my first two blocks~
Catch Me If You Can and North Star. I think I'm going to try to stick with a brown & pink/ maroon theme for this year-long  BOW.
Until next time~
Happy Stitching!

Goals On Hold~

:-)  I was busily working away on my Le Petite project for this month~ Mon Ami,

when I saw this~

which led me to following along on the blog tour and the cute table runner on Sherri's blog~ A Quilting Life.

Which led me to search for some Valentine fabrics. I discovered my stash is woefully lacking. :-/  But I pulled a few FQ's;  A little cutting, a little stitching and I'm almost there!  Now I can't decide if I should use the rest of my meager stash for Miss Punkie Pie's cute hearts~ or wait and see what else the tour brings! LOL Such a dilemma! :-))

What are you working on?
I think tomorrow I will be quilting! :-))
Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!

MUF's and Other Fun Stuff~

I've joined Kelly's MUFee's at Charming Girls Club. :-) MUF stands for 'Masterpieces Under Fermentation'. In other words, I'm going to savor my UFO's and quilt projects and finish them when it feels right instead of hurrying through them just to get them done. :-) Already I feel more relaxed and guilt-free! :-)

Kelly has also challenged us to come up with a word to reflect on through the year~ a goal, an accomplishment, something you want to see reflected in your life in the coming year.  It came to me as I was reading Kelly's post. FUN! I am going to concentrate on it. I'm going to look on the bright side of situations and see if I can't inject a little fun into even the most un-fun situations. :-)

And finally my Charming Goals for January and February~

1. Enjoy every day! Add a little FUN to each one.
2. Finish my Le Petite projects~ I really enjoy doing these small projects!
3. Work on a MUF. ;-)

Until next time~
Have a happy day!!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
