Yesterday was Thimbleberries Sew Day~ I know Barb sewed, and so did Kim. I love both of their projects!! I, ahem, didn't get much done. :-o Mr Crazy and I have been having one of 'those' weeks~ you know the ones~ when everything under the sun seems to be packed into each day! Dentist appts, Dr appt's, DD came home for a little visit, house painter's here, etc etc~ today we are getting new rain gutters. Exciting huh? lol The house painter's aren't quite finished~ they will be back next week, but the majority of their work is done. Whew!
My Thimbleberries Sew Day plan was to work on this quilt~ Double Duty in Miss Rosie's Spice of Life Quilts book by Carrie Nelson. Unfortunately, I only got 4 little blocks finished. I hope to do better next month! Mark your calendars for the 27th of July!! :-)
I did get a "sweet" squishy in the mail yesterday! Jenny from Cut.Sew.Iron.Repeat had a little giveaway for some scraps of Sweetwater's new line Hometown. They are such cute fabrics! I see some small scrappy bags in my future! ;-) Thank you Jenny!!!
I hope you are finding a little time to sew today!
Until next time~
Have a happy day!

Charming Girls Finishes~
My bad, I don't think I ever blogged about my Charming Girls Club Goals for May and June. :-o So we will make it an all-in-one post! lol
There are certain things I need to do every month~ the BOM blocks I'm doing with a friend for the HGTV message board. I got them both done. And July's is waiting for Friday.
I'm doing the Birdie Stitches BOM from Little Miss Shabby. Here is Jun's, but they both were finished. The next one will come out Friday. ;-)
I'm doing the Simple Things quilt along with Kelly at Charming Chatter and Carol at Brown Quilts. I'm almost ready for the next step, but I'm keeping up!! Yay!
I am working on the Mystery in Quiltmaker magazine. I've almost got step 2 done and then I will show you in another post... maybe that should be a July goal?
Finally, I've been making the Le Petite projects each month. This was June's pattern Ric Rac a Schnibbles pattern by Carrie nelson. I turned the wall hanging into two pillows. ;-)
Let's see what else did I do? Oh! Silly me! I got a new sewing machine and I've been playing!! ;-)))
I hope you've had some fun in May and June too!
Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

~~Tomorrow~~
Is Thimbleberries Sew Day! Are you sewing? :-) If you are sewing something in Thimbleberries fabrics, or using a Thimbleberries pattern and your own fabrics, we'd love to see it!! Barb at Bejeweled Quilts by Barb and I started this sew day last year, because we both love Thimbleberries! :-))
Unfortunately, I will be out for a bit tomorrow. BUT if you leave me a comment and let me know you are sewing~ I'll stop by! If I get time, I plan to work on some log cabin blocks that I've added a lot of my T-berrie stash to. :-) I'll be back tomorrow with photo's!!
Have a happy day!

June Le Petite Project Finished
And if you guessed that this~
was turning into these~
you were right!! :-) I didn't use a pattern, just flew by the seat of my pants. lol :-) I wanted to try 2 different ways to make the rolled pillow~ one way has a kind of yo-yo at the side and closes with a ribbon. Easy.
The other has a zipper set in and the sides are set in circles. A little more challenging, but do-able. :-) They aren't perfect, but look much better than our current pillows! lol The hardest part was the seams where the trim comes together... that was a lot for my machine to handle and yes, I did break a needle. Oh~ and no, I did not use my newest machine. ;-))
That's all for now,
Until next time~
Have a happy weekend!

Ric Rac Progress~
We had a choice of two patterns for our Le Petite project for this month and I chose Ric Rac. (by Carrie Nelson).... before I continue, do you remember the children's books where there would be pictures for words? So as you are reading with your child they spot the picture and say the word? My photo's reminded me of that. Our DD loved those books and I think I memorized some of them I read them so often. LOL
So back to my photo's~ the first one is about 3/4th's of my Ric Rac sewn together. Then I got a brain storm and started de-constructing. LOL I'll let the photo's do the talking~~ :-)

Sewing Along~
I've finished the next step for the Simple Things Quilt Along that Kelly and Carol are hosting. I showed you a couple of my unpressed blocks last time. This time they are pressed. :-) I am using my vintage sheet collection and a few bright fabrics. Although I am making Carol's larger version, I am hoping to finish it with Kelly's border to show more vintage sheet pieces. I have a light batting to quilt it with to make it more of a summer quilt. :-) Sorry the photo is a little blurry, I think something on my camera got moved, I'll need to pull out the manual. :-/
Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

Got Time?
I sure wonder where all of mine goes! It seems like I don't have much blog-worthy stuff lately~ sorry! :-/
I know you don't want to hear about the laundry going (how can three people generate so much laundry!!? lol), dinner plans (taco salads tonight ;-) ) or the errands I've been running~(DS broke the crystal out of his watch, and we needed to find him a new watch for work); so little sewing has been going on! I need to figure out where I'm losing time. Any ideas? ;-)
I have been working on my Simple Things blocks~ but they aren't done. These aren't even pressed! :-o I am loving the vintage sheets and bright FQ's I pulled though. I think it is going to be a real happy quilt. :-)
And I wanted to show my Mom my shamrock plants. I brought them both back when we visited in April and this is the second time the green one has bloomed. :-) Mom & I split the purple shamrock plant and mine is doing well. It just finished blooming~ looks like it might be thirsty too. ;-)
Hope y'all are having a great Monday~
I'll be trying to sew, so hopefully I'll have something other than unpressed blocks to show you soon! ;-)

Catching up!
Slowly but surely! :-)
I finished Step One of the Secret Window mystery quilt in Quiltmaker magazine and am working on Step Two. My sewing machine and I are like two peas in a pod and I'm lovin' it!! :-))
Hope you are having a great week too!!

A Little Late to the Party~
But I'm there!! :-) Kelly at Charming Chatter and Carol at Brown Quilts are co-hosting a Quilt Along. Kelly's quilt is wall hanging size, and Carol's is full size. I agonized over which to make, what to make it from etc and finally yesterday decided I needed to get to work!
I cut.. and cut... and cut! I am using my vintage sheet stash and making the larger version of Simple Things.
This is over 300 2.5 inch squares! I'm ready for step 2. :-))
I also finished up my Birdie Stitches (from Little Miss Shabby) block for June. I just had to change 'birdie' to 'Sandie' ;-) lol
Now I am off to sew on another project I am behind with! More about that soon!
Have a happy Monday!

Happy Monday!
Do you visit Linda at Stray Stitches? I got the best mail on Saturday! :-) I was lucky enough to win her birthday giveaway and just look at the goodies she sent! Lovely half yard cuts~ I need to find a pattern for these beauties! Any suggestions? And the cute little safety pin pouch! Thank you Linda!! If you've never been to Linda's blog, you are in for a treat! :-)
I also did a little retail therapy this weekend~
these beauties are for the red and white 5 inch strip swap I am hosting. If you'd like to join in the fun, let me know in a comment and I'll email you the specifics. ;-)
We are having some great weather! Hence, not much sewing is getting done, but I am enjoying being outdoors! I've got flowers and herbs in pots and a lot of our shrubs are blooming. Not so great for my allergies, but a real treat to my eyes! :-)
Have a happy day!~
take a stitch for me. ;-)

I ♥ Red and White!
Thank you! for all your sweet comments about my new machine! I do need to clarify~ I was so excited to tell you about it I may have painted the wrong picture of my DH~ he didn't so much 'insist' I go ahead and get the beauty as 'encouraged' me to. He is very supportive of my hobbies. :-))
After seeing all the gorgeous quilts in blogland from the exhibit in NY, I was drooling! :-) I already have a few red/white smaller pieces, but I think I need more! I joined Karen at Sew Many Ways red and white 5 inch square swap. (sorry I forgot to take a photo before I sent my little beauties off). It's going to be hard waiting. LOL
In the meantime, I started a 5 inch red/white strip swap with my friends on the HGTV quilters forum. I've decided to open it to my blog-land friends too. If you'd like to join in the fun, just tell me so in a comment and I'll email you the details. We are swapping 5 inch by width of fabric strips. :-) Here are some I am cutting from~
If that wasn't enough :-)) I also started a block swap!! Oh yeah! The quicker way to get a quilt! ;-)) The blocks are quilter's choice, pieced or paper-pieced and finished at 12 inches. I did my test block today~ It is called the Folded Star and its from Quilter's Cache.
Think I'll keep busy? LOL I just ♥ red and white!!
Until next time~
