CGQC January Finishes~

I purposely didn't give my self a lot of goals for January as I had other things I needed to work on. So lets review my goals~

1. I need to finish up the 12 blocks in Christmas fabrics that my friend and I decided last year to exchange for Christmas.

~check~ Yep, I did it! These are the blocks I sent to my friend, and below are the blocks I received. I have a plan for my blocks already. ;-)

2. I want to work on my Fig Tree Club quilt called Cobble Stones. Last month I got it all cut out and part of the blocks sewn. I'd like to get them all sewn. ;-)

~check~ Blocks are all finished and sashings are in-progress. ;-) I have played with them on the floor for a week now and hopefully will have decided on their layout soon. :-))

3. And the biggie~ the 'necessary evil' ~~ clean up my disaster!

~half check~ LOL In the process of cleaning up, I decided to rearrange the furniture! :-o So everything is rearranged and I am putting things back in place. Maybe there will be a few pics by mid-February. ;-)

I also managed to~
~~get my Thimbleberries bag and table runner together.
~~Get my January Schnibble together during the Valentine's Sewing Day. :-)
~~And spend a day cutting pieces for 'Piece & Goodwill'.

So I would say I had a very good month! :-)

I also want to thank SewCalGal for the wonderful Virtual Christmas Quilt Show she did in December. The inspiration was awesome! I happened to win a thumb drive and it arrived this week. It is sure going to come in handy for organizing my photo's on the computer! Thank you SewCalGal and AllBrands! :-)

Until next time~

~ We Have A Winner~

..and a table runner that is all together! :-) I didn't trim the ends yet, I decided to do that right before I take it along to quilt so the stitching stays in place. ;-)

I know you are waiting for the winner of the Sweet Treat Bag~ :-) But first, I just wanted to say, thanks for playing with me! :-) I hope y'all had as much fun playing with your Thimbleberries books or fabrics as I did! Please join Barb & I again on February 24th! :-)

DS drew the name and he picked~~~

~~~wait for it~~~~
Diary of a Quilt Maven! :-)
~Thimbleberries Sew Day part 2~
Yay! I love sew days! It makes me slow down and work on something I've wanted to do, but haven't for some reason or other. :-) I wish everyday could be a sew day! LOL :-)
First I finished this~ It's a Sweet Treat Bag from Moda (in the free pattern section). ;-) I hope someone is sewing something Thimbleberries, or at least blogging about their plan, because I'd hate to keep it for myself. *wink* *wink* :-)
And then I got to work on my table runner~ it's coming together pretty fast. I have 7 more short seams and then I can start on the long seams. I may not finish it today, but that's ok! This is fun sewing! :-)
Hope y'all are finding a little fun sewing to do today too~ :-)
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!
Thimbleberries Sewing Day!
I'm so excited! Today is the day Barb and I are going to be working on our Thimbleberries projects. You are invited to join us! :-) You can use a Thimbleberries pattern, Thimbleberries fabric, or both. Have a UFO? Pull it out! :-)) If you are working on something, please leave a comment and let me know! And post about it on your blog. I am going to have a little giveaway to commemorate the day for all those who are joining us. :-)
I am going to be working on two things. The strip set on the right is for the giveaway. ;-) It is going to turn into something fun in the next hour or so. On the left I have cut out the pieces for the Sticks & Stones table runner. The pattern is in Heather Mulder Peterson's book, 'On the Run'. I love all the patterns in this book!
Ok, off to sew! I'll be back with a progress report~ :-))
~~Cutting, Cutting, Cutting~
Whew! ;-) I spent the day cutting up green scraps for my 'Piece & Goodwill' quilt from the Nov/Dec 09 Quiltmaker. My friends on HGTV shared scraps and wow~ I got scraps! :-) I'm all set to sew blocks now! :-))
Until tomorrow~
Happy Stitching!
Design Wall Monday~
I'm a little slow in posting this morning, but I am still here! :-) Be sure to go check out all the wonderful design walls in blogland from Judy L's blog! :-) The inspiration is just what I needed on this Monday morning! ;-)
Today I have the Fig Tree Club blocks, Cobble Stones, on my floor ~ um, I mean design wall. ;-) I am determined to get this top together so I can go quilting! :-)
I'll be working on the sashings until Wednesday, when it will be time to pull out the Thimbleberries for a little fun! Come and join us!
Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
