Sewing & Fun Mail...

Thanks for all your well wishes in finding my pattern! :-) Actually, as many of these quilts that I have made, I really don't need the pattern... its just a little security measure. ;-)) LOL I could make them in my sleep if it didn't involve pins and machinery. :-) ...and wouldn't that be cool if we could do mindless sewing and catch some zzzzz's at the same time!?!? Ahhh the quilts we could make!! ;-) I am making progress~ all the blocks just need one more side added to them and then I can start playing with them. :-)
And fun mail!~ Today I received these wonderful FQ's from Kim at Kim Sherrod Studio. She had a fun giveaway a while back and I won an e-pattern and these lovelies. :-)) Thanks Kim!! :-) I don't know how you knew that I love sunflowers, but these are going in my collection for my 'someday' quilt. And I know exactly where a piece of the green is going too! :-) {{hugs}}
Back to my machine~
Hope y'all are having a great day too!
Happy stitchin'!!

Recycling~

Denim! :-) I got all the pieces cut for the denim/flannel raggy quilt that I need to get busy on because it is a graduation gift. :-o I always use the same pattern, originally published in Traditional Quiltworks magazine (yeah, a very long time ago, because that magazine has been out of business for years). Anyway, I had my hot little hands on it just a few days ago and today I can't find it! I've searched and wondered what 'safe' place it is in~ sheesh! Good thing I know it by heart. LOL I'm sure it will turn up, but I hate days like this!!

This morning I kept my nose to my machine and finished my new purse. :-) I love this pattern! If you are just dropping by, it is Amy Butler's 'Sweet Harmony'. I can see more in my future. ;-)The inside has a large zippered pocket and 2 open ones. And did you notice the little cell phone pocket inside the big pocket on the outside? Yup, love it! :-)
I'm off to look for that magazine~ send some luck!
Until next time~

Tote Sewing!

Whoops~ I hit enter before I wrote anything! Hope if you saw that, you come back!! :-o Yikes!!

I worked on DD's tote bag today and finished it! Except for attaching the flower~ I'll let her decide on its placement. I was working on it yesterday and sent her a photo and she wrote back all upset!~ :-o She cut it out while home for Spring Break and wanted the polka dot on the inside~ but that wasn't how she cut it, and I didn't know. :-o I just sewed it the way it was cut. Well, after a little discussion~ and me finishing it, she decided she loves it! LOL Kids! (here I was thinking I might have myself a new tote bag ;-)) It is Amy Butler's Sweet Harmony pattern and even though it was a lot of steps~ I love the end result! So much so, that I'm now working on a handbag for me. ;-) The inside has 2 large zippered pockets, ~ I purposely put in 2 different colors of zippers so she won't have to open both pockets when looking for something. And it has a hidden cell phone pocket in the outside pocket. Love it! :-)
Looking for a little blogging help? Screaming Meme is having a sweet giveaway! She is an awesome decorator and has the coolest ideas! I love peeking in to her blog~ maybe something will rub off! LOL :-) Be sure to tell her I sent you. ;-) Good luck to us!! :-)) LOL

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

Oh!~ PS~ Stephani~ my Fig Tree quilt is from the Fig Tree Club kit (link in my sidebar). ;-) Hope you get an account, then I'll write to you personally. ;-)

Design Wall Monday~

Last night I put a few Piece & Goodwill blocks together. I had all the components made and just needed to sit and sew~ I didn't even press the blocks yet! :-o Hopefully, I'll get a chance to press today and lay out all the blocks I've made to date.
What are you working on? check out Judy L at Patchwork Times for lots of inspiration! :-)

Until next time~

CG&GQC April Goals

Happy Easter!

My goals are going to be few this month~ mostly it will be a case of what I need to do. ;-)

1. I would really like to finish DD's tote. I need to get a couple zippers~ hopefully tomorrow.
2. I need to make a raggy denim/flannel lap quilt for a gift. This is one I made in the past~ I'll use the same pattern.
3. The new Schnibbles project for this month~ Tagalong. Along with my other on-going blocks. ;-)

4. I need to work on my BOM blocks. This was April's block~ you can find the pattern for the 12 inch block here. I also re-sized it to a 4 inch block.

I thought my goals were going to be few~ yikes! I'd better get sewing!!
Until Next time~

Happy Friday!

I managed to sew today! Whoohoo! :-)

This is the next block in the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along. (see sidebar) I didn't own and couldn't find a Jelly Roll when this group started, so I am digging into my CW scraps for the blocks. ;-)
And while the CW's were out, I made 3 more Dear Jane blocks! Here we have M5 Mother's Point, H10 Ben's Bowtie, and H1 Peek-ab-oo. It isn't too late to join in making DJ blocks~ just hop over to Angela's blog and join us!
That's all for now~
Until next time,
Happy Stitchin'!!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
