Moving Along..

Did you have a good weekend?  Things were busy here, but nothing unusual in that. :-)

I did manage a few finishes...

I've been stitching on this Crabapple Hill pattern in between Birdie Stitches blocks. It is going to be a pillow cover as soon as I get some piping made.  I am just going to love having this out during the Christmas season! :-)

And I got my vintage sheet Simple Things Quilt Along  quilt all quilted, bound and washed. I really like how crinkly it is! I used an all over large swirly design for the quilting. It looks better in person than in the photo's, I think. It has a vintage sheet on the back and I used the same sheet for the binding. It is snuggle-licious! :-)

I was trying for an angle shot of the quilting, but just can't capture it
Finished!! :-)

Today I am working on some swap blocks. Hopefully I will be back to show you those in a day or two. ;-)
Until then~
Happy stitchin'!

Quilting Days!

Whoohoo! I've been quilting! :-)

I got my Simple Things Quilt Along vintage sheet top quilted! It is hot off the frame. ;-) I forgot to take a photo of the back, but the binding isn't on yet, so I will once the binding is finished up.  We are having a lovely summer day with a slight breeze... DH was my quilt holder. LOL

I hope you are having a great day too!

More soon! :-)

Blogger's Quilt Festival

I'm a little slow joining the fun, but better late than never, right? :-)

argh! why is blogger tipping my photo's!? sorry
Amy has a great quilt show every year! If you haven't participated or seen it before, you are in for a treat! So many lovely quilts! So much inspiration! You can check it out here~ Blogger's Quilt Festival

I am showing my vintage sheet quilt this year. I swapped vintage sheet FQ's to get a big variety. Then I kinda/sorta planned my quilt in EQ. (I couldn't figure out how to add individual sashings in EQ, so I had to plan the colored sashing with good ol' colored pencils and graph paper.)  I used my 24 inch ruler and cut strips from the sheets, and then angles to get the diamonds. I didn't follow any pattern, just winged it as I went along. It was actually fun!  I like little challenges and it kept me busy for a number of days.  When I got the top together, I rented time on a longarm at my LQS and quilted it. I used poly batting to give it some 'puff'. It is a wonderfully warm quilt and great for snuggling. :-)

I love looking at all the older sheet prints. I know I had some on my bed as a kid. :-)  I hope to do another vintage sheet project soon.

Thanks for stopping by~
I hope you enjoy the show!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
