Moving Along..

Did you have a good weekend?  Things were busy here, but nothing unusual in that. :-)

I did manage a few finishes...

I've been stitching on this Crabapple Hill pattern in between Birdie Stitches blocks. It is going to be a pillow cover as soon as I get some piping made.  I am just going to love having this out during the Christmas season! :-)

And I got my vintage sheet Simple Things Quilt Along  quilt all quilted, bound and washed. I really like how crinkly it is! I used an all over large swirly design for the quilting. It looks better in person than in the photo's, I think. It has a vintage sheet on the back and I used the same sheet for the binding. It is snuggle-licious! :-)

Quilting Days!

Whoohoo! I've been quilting! :-)

I got my Simple Things Quilt Along vintage sheet top quilted! It is hot off the frame. ;-) I forgot to take a photo of the back, but the binding isn't on yet, so I will once the binding is finished up.  We are having a lovely summer day with a slight breeze... DH was my quilt holder. LOL

Summer Sewing~

I have had my block for the Birdie Stitches BOM done for weeks, but I never remembered to take the photo!  I just love these birdie blocks!  I am using my vintage sheet stash around them. In this one, I used a metallic thread for one of the star bursts, it didn't photograph very well, but is kinda cute. ;-)

And I have my top together for the Simple Things Quilt Along that Kelly and Carol hosted~ thanks gals! It was fun! Again, I used my vintage sheet stash and added in a few bright fabrics for the stars. It is supposed to have another border on it, but I think I like it as is~ how about you?  I think I will use a sheet on the back too. :-)

I have had a great day at the machine! :-)  All of my blocks are finished for the Simple Things Quilt Along, including the border blocks! I can hardly wait for next week to get it all together! :-)  Thanks Kelly and Carol for all the fun!

I just have to show you my petunias....

I have never had good luck growing wave petunias, but it doesn't stop me from buying a couple every year and putting them in pots. (I'm persistent!)  This year~ finally~ they are doing really well! So well that I had to tie a string to the Shepard's pole to keep them up right! lol I guess even a black thumb gardener gets lucky once in a while. :-))

Sewing Along

I finished Step 4 for the Simple Things Quilt Along.  I am really lovin' the vintage sheets!  The next step will be putting it all together, on Thursday~ tomorrow!  :-o  Does this week seem to be going too fast for you too?  LOL If it isn't that, then I am getting too slow~ and I don't think I am. LOL :-)

Simple Things Catching Up

I'm doing the Simple Things quilt along with Kelly and Carol and finally finished all the pinwheel blocks for Step 3.  The good news is, Step 4 is halfway done too!  I just couldn't stop myself once i got behind the machine yesterday. :-)  I am having so much fun playing in my vintage sheet stash!

Sewing Along~

I've finished the next step for the Simple Things Quilt Along that Kelly and Carol are hosting.  I showed you a couple of my unpressed blocks last time. This time they are pressed. :-)  I am using my vintage sheet collection and a few bright fabrics.  Although I am making Carol's larger version, I am hoping to finish it with Kelly's border to show more vintage sheet pieces.  I have a light batting to quilt it with to make it more of a summer quilt. :-)  Sorry the photo is a little blurry, I think something on my camera got moved, I'll need to pull out the manual. :-/

Got Time?

I sure wonder where all of mine goes! It seems like I don't have much blog-worthy stuff lately~ sorry! :-/

I know you don't want to hear about the laundry going (how can three people generate so much laundry!!? lol), dinner plans (taco salads tonight ;-) ) or the errands I've been running~(DS broke the crystal out of his watch, and we needed to find him a new watch for work); so little sewing has been going on! I need to figure out where I'm losing time.  Any ideas? ;-)

I have been working on my Simple Things blocks~ but they aren't done. These aren't even pressed! :-o I am loving the vintage sheets and bright FQ's I pulled though. I think it is going to be a real happy quilt. :-)

And I wanted to show my Mom my shamrock plants. I brought them both back when we visited in April and this is the second time the green one has bloomed. :-) Mom & I split the purple shamrock plant and mine is doing well. It just finished blooming~ looks like it might be thirsty too. ;-)
