| argh! why is blogger tipping my photo's!? sorry |
I am showing my vintage sheet quilt this year. I swapped vintage sheet FQ's to get a big variety. Then I kinda/sorta planned my quilt in EQ. (I couldn't figure out how to add individual sashings in EQ, so I had to plan the colored sashing with good ol' colored pencils and graph paper.) I used my 24 inch ruler and cut strips from the sheets, and then angles to get the diamonds. I didn't follow any pattern, just winged it as I went along. It was actually fun! I like little challenges and it kept me busy for a number of days. When I got the top together, I rented time on a longarm at my LQS and quilted it. I used poly batting to give it some 'puff'. It is a wonderfully warm quilt and great for snuggling. :-)
I love looking at all the older sheet prints. I know I had some on my bed as a kid. :-) I hope to do another vintage sheet project soon.
Thanks for stopping by~
I hope you enjoy the show!

That is yummy. I remember when patterned sheets came out.
What a gorgeous quilt~
Are you taking pictures with an iphone?
Mine does that for some reason!
Hi Sandy! Thanks for sharing this quilt with us and your process. How did you go about trading vintage sheets? I discovered a couple in my closet from my MIL. I'd love to participate in a swap to increase my variety.
Love your diamonds and the color variety of the vintage sheets
Oh it is stunning...I love the diamonds..very pretty!
It's such a pretty quilt, swapping fabrics is a great way to get a nice assortment. I haven't tried the poly batting yet, is it warmer than the cotton? Which type did you use?
