To answer your questions~

:-) Thanks for your comments and questions!! :-)

The blocks in the raggy quilt are approx 10 inches, so it measures 50 x 60 inches. A good nap/snuggle size. My DD is tall. ;-) I don't put any batting or extra layer of flannel or anything between the denim and flannel... it is plenty heavy & warm with just those 2 layers. I put in a lot of pockets, so they add to the weight and thickness too. I really like this pattern because you don't have to sew X's in the squares or anything. Each block has 2 rectangles and a square, and then you turn them differently to make the pattern... very easy. :-) And no seams to match in the blocks!

I don't go to the laundromat to wash it! :-)) ~ I made a large 'pillow case' size bag with a zipper in it, so I can wash these things in my home machine without fearing a lint disaster. I take it outside to shake out after I wash it on a 'buky' setting; a lot of lint comes off in that washing, and the birds love it for their nests. :-) Shake it out and toss it in the dryer and let the magic begin... I do check the lint trap in the dryer every 7 to 10 minutes to make sure it doesn't get too full. Usually one wash is all it needs, but if I notice I forgot to snip a seam, I'll give it another rinse in the bag and then another session in the dryer.

I was going to add a few photo's of close ups of the blocks, but didn't pull the camera out today~ sorry. :-/

Have a good night!~ And happy Stitchin'!!

Thanks you very much for the info! I will have to go through the family's old jeans I've been saving... and go out and buy some flannel! It may end up being a New Year's project... although... it probably sews up quick...so.... 8-)

hey crazy - I see/read that your CYOC swappers are amking you work hard to earn your name! LOL :P instead of a Choose your own "Center" it's become a design your own string block from the center to the corner. :P *crazy*

but i am so glad to be a part of it and also so happy that so many like me love 1930's. I think that we are all gonna la,la,love our stings that we make and receive.

I jsut wish I could get started already -although I am itching to, I know I must be good and get other stuff done first. ;)

I worked to day on my next tutorial project to be posted on my blog in the coming week or so... while I wait a couple more days in hopes for the lost minis to arrive... *sigh*

thanks for hosting us - our crazy groups of stringers! :P Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
