I wouldn't leave y'all without telling. Honest! :-) Did you guess which one I made? (click on it for a bit larger view) I didn't follow a pattern. I printed off the EQ6 Drunkards Path block in 3 sizes and made fabric by cutting the 6 inch squares into 1.5 inch strips and sewing them back together. Then I just traced around the templates with chalk, ~cut, sewed, played! :-) It was fun! After I got it together, the really light spots bothered me. So I pulled out a fabric stamp and a little fabric paint and added a few dragonflies to tone down the white spots. It was fun to play with something a little out of my comfort zone.
Thanks Myra! I had no idea there were books written with this kind of design. Check out this one and this one by Louisa L. Smith. wow! :-) I'm going to look for them next time I'm at the library or the quilt shop!
BTW~ tomorrow is a Quiltathon day. I'm going to be sewing! (I hope) Weekends always seem to fill up with so much other stuff, that I never get near my machine. I'll let you know how tomorrow turns out. ;-)
Have a good night!

crazy - I didn't guess anyone's quilt nor did I try... I just had no clue b/c i didn't follow the threads and keep up with clues...
but I do love your quilt! What a unique idea to sew up strings and then use them for a drunkard's path! Very creative and I love how colorful it is!!! You aced the challange!
What are your plans for donating it? I wish jayardi would consider putting them all up for auction... and sell raffle tickets for charity. I know I'd buy a lot of chances!
Or BETTER yet... before they are auctioned.. I wonder if that mystery guy quilter could somehow help gett the attention of the Houston Quilt Show people and have them all included in the show together on display! WOulnd't that be COOL/!??@?! ;)
I love your quilt. It's stunning. I never would have thought to stamp or use fabric paint. Looks like you're keeping busy.
I'm glad you told us which one was yours, I just couldn't guess. The mystery is now solved :^)
Tis a lovely quilt indeed!
I have a pattern book that I borrowed from a friend that is quite similar... I think I have a photo on my blog (May or June I am thinking) of the quilt she made...?...Must find her book around her... she will be home from her holiday any day now and I must return it!!!
Love your boarder fabric! 8-)
