Little Green Apples Hop~~

Have you been doing the hop?

Hoppin' around the blogs?  :-)

I just love hops! They inspire me to try new things. And Carol @Just Let Me Quilt thought up this fun idea! Thank you Carol!!

This challenge was to make something green or with apples or both! I chose both! I found this very cute apple core pattern at Sassafras Lane Designs.

Shayla & Kristy have so many fun FREE patterns!

I had to make it because my hubby is a green apple lover~ the sour ones! :-)

So I made this little mini to hang in our office.  I strayed from the pattern ever so slightly by adding the seeds, and making smaller borders. Now I think I may have to go back and make all the fruit blocks! (did you go look?!)  My fabrics for the core are a little light on the left~ I never realized I didn't own creamier neutrals!  I don't have a lot of greens either so I had to repeat a couple. It is all good! Like in nature, all apples aren't perfect! :-)

New Pattern Release

 Joanne @canuckquilter has released a new pattern~

Leafy Pathways

I was lucky enough to pattern test this one for her and I immediately thought of all the piles of colorful leaves in the fall. I dug out scraps and cut and sewed. I just love how it turned out!

It is 61.5" x 78.5" and there is a tiny bit of paper piecing to get the sharp leaf points. Very easy to do.  :-)

Joanne did hers in spring greens, so be sure to visit her blog to see it. And the other tester's top too.

Until next time~

Sweet On You Hop~ Thursday :-)

 Hello bloggers and hoppers!

The idea for this hop was Joan's @MooseStash Quilting and what a fun idea for February!!  Thank you Joan!! I have enjoyed visiting all the blogs and 'sweet' ideas~ have you too?

I decided to make a project from the Fat Quarter Shop's exclusive free patterns, with a little twist. I wanted my wall hanging to be mini. :-) I did the math and made the Love Note Pattern half size.

It is approx 10.25" x 12" inches~

Ok, I love it, but what if I made it even smaller?

How about 5" x 6"?

It is really easy to reduce patterns and blocks and I had a blast making the mini-mini. ;-)  Ok, I might be a math nerd, but honestly~ it is easy. :-)

In the evenings I worked on the accompanying free cross-stitch pattern. I got it stitched, but not fully finished.... it will be by next year! LOL  I have a small cutting board that I plan to mount it on so I can hang it in my dining nook next year. :-)

I hope you enjoyed my little 'sweet' treats. Be sure to check out all of today's bloggers~

ME Fun!

As many of you know, I love to machine embroider. :-)

And I love gifting things I have made. Well, this set is staying right here! LOL

When I saw this Nautical design from Designs By Juju  I just knew what I would do with it.

We have a small guest bathroom that I have fun decorating, and when it isn't Grinch season, it is beach themed.

These are perfect for the vanity and little set of shelves. :-) Next I need to decorate some towels.

Do you decorate for seasons or other themes?   I love to decorate, much to my husband's chagrin. He always says 'what are you going to do with that?' when I buy a little something, but it always works as planned. :-) yay!

I hope you are enjoying a little sunshine wherever you are~

Until next time~~

Happy Stitchin'!!

I'm Home Again!

Did you know I was gone? :-)

LOL, I didn't tell but a few. I went to a winter retreat with my sewing/machine embroidery/quilting friends.  We are a small group, but full of fun and inspiration! Unfortunately, the design wall was so busy I didn't get pix of things before they were taken down again! Next time I will be faster! I do have one quilt top I need to convert and then I can show it.

I worked on these 'Shop In Style Tote Bags' from Pineapple Fabrics.

They used this fun Grace pack.  Keep your eyes on their site because they have a lot of sales~ better yet, sign up for the emails so you don't miss anything! ;-)

Side view of the largest bag~

I did a little extra quilting on both bags and I really like how they turned out. I think the large one may go with me to Expo in March. ;-)

I also got quite a bit done on a machine embroidery project, but it is a test design, so you will have to wait for that one.

What is keeping you busy?

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
