It is My Day!

 Welcome blog hoppers!

First, a special thanks to Carol @Just Let Me Quilt for organizing such a fun hop!  Gadgets~ they come in all shapes and sizes, some were made especially for sewing/quilting, and some were not. ;-) I love finding things not made for quilting, but are oh so very useful! Today I have one of each for you~

I love my Crafter's Edge Crossover 11 machine and dies.  I use it all the time! This month I made an autumn table runner with  the Equilateral Triangle die and Alphabet Dies.

Sorry for the wrinkles! :-o I am just home from a retreat and will soon be off again on another adventure! :-) (I really need to stay home and quilt!) LOL I cut up a bunch of autumn scraps and had so much fun sewing them together! I think I am going to quilt autumn leaves on it. What would you do?

Can you guess what I use my 2nd 'gadget' for?

No, it is not at the kitchen sink!!!

Need a hint? :-)

It sits right in front of my sewing machine and holds those things that I need all the time!

No more stiletto rolling away, or bobbin or anything! It is perfect! I actually have 2~ one for my sewing machine and one for my embroidery machine. They are quite inexpensive, the teal one was approx $3 at Ross. :-)

And, if you have read this far~ thank you!!~ I am going to send the teal one to one of you, just drop a comment below. :-) It won't show up right away, I had to turn on comment moderation because I was getting some spam. ;-)

I will draw sometime next week. Good luck!

And thank you for stopping by!

Enjoy the hop! Here are today's other 'hoppers'~

I'm a Travelin' Gal!

Two posts in one day!

I hope it brings rain! ;-) We are in need.

I also hope you have been visiting the blogs in the blog hop in my previous post. Some very cute ideas and you might find a giveaway too!  Also be sure to come back Thursday on my day because you WILL find a giveaway here. ;-) ;-)

This month I have been on the road a lot!

I got back from another retreat and wanted to share some of the projects with you. They were all so fun!  I will share more of my projects after the hop.

One of the gals worked on this quilt. She based it off of an Eleanor Burns pattern~ she also made some cute pillow shams to go with it but I didn't get that pic.

My friend Toni, no blog, worked on 3 Yard Quilts from the books with that title. I am not sure which book this came from but I loved it. It made ideas spin in my head! I have a couple really cute border prints~ wouldn't a border print be awesome where she has the red poinsettias?  I am not sure if I would do pinwheels, or maybe take something from the border print. :-)

This is the design wall filled with American Hero tops! I overlapped the red borders to get three on. All together the girls made 5 tops! Four of the retreaters belong to the same guild and the guild made the corner star blocks. Once finished the quilts go to our local military hospital for servicemen/women who are there recovering from injuries they received while deployed.

And finally, one of my projects. :-)

This is a Sew Sweetness pattern called 'The Chickadee Backpack'.

I made it in Batman fabric for my DGS. I embroidered the logo with my embroidery machine. I think I found the design on Etsy. :-)  I had everything cut out before I went and it was a pretty quick sew! The inside has a couple zipper pockets and there is also a mesh pocket in the outer pocket.

I am hoping he will love it! :-)

Ok, that's all for now, I will have more show and tell after the Queen of Gadgets Hop.

Are you following it? I am loving all the projects and ideas!

Until then~

Happy quiltin'!!
