How did that happen!? :-)
I hope you had a memorable 4th. We had a lovely family day filled with lots of eating. LOL ;-)
I cannot believe it has been nearly a week since I last blogged! I've been busy~ honest! I just don't have anything to show you... yet. ;-) I'm busy working on my Row Robins (won't be revealed until September), my blocks for the Think Christmas blog hop (see sidebar) and I finished quilting a quilt for my Mom~ but no peeks until she sees it. :-) See what I mean? Busy, but nothing to show. :-/
I can show you my BOM that I'm doing each month with my friend Karen (who blogs at Briarside Lane) on
the HGTV quilters message board. We posted the July block on the first.
It is the one in the top row, center. I am doing my blocks in CW fabrics, but if you are a member of the quilting board, you can go and have a peek at everyone's blocks~ oh my! Some great color schemes and choices. The ladies are very creative. :-) *And if you are visiting from HGTV, no, this isn't the final layout. LOL Don't get any ideas like that. :-))
I am really loving how this BOM is coming together and can't wait until I finish all the blocks. :-)
That's all from my little corner of the world for today.
Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

Christmas Through the Year
I am still sticking with trying to make at least one Christmas gift every month. This month I finished two! Unfortunately, I can't show them to you. I know the recipients read my blog and I don't want to spoil any surprises! Darlene agreed that I could show just a peek~ so here is my peek. :-)
Sorry, but that is all you get for now. ;-)
In other news~ have you heard about the patriotic blog hop starting tomorrow? Check out Jane's blog for all the info.
Also there are two new buttons in my sidebar~ 2 more blog hops coming up!!! :-) Stay tuned for more info on those.
Have a happy weekend!

I ♥ Stitching!
I stitch almost every evening~ after watching the Olympic trials, there really isn't much on TV, so I stitch!
These towel designs are free from Bird Brain Designs every month. I found the hand towels at Target in January. Unfortunately~ they don't carry them any more, and I only have 9. Not sure what I will do when I run out.
This is also a Bird Brain Designs pattern called 'Quilts in the Garden'. I finished it up earlier in the week and I'm patiently (ok, maybe I'm not so patient ;-)) waiting for hubby to make a frame for me. He might start this weekend! ;-)
I need to find a new project now. ;-)
Hope y'all have a great weekend!
Until next time~

Whoops!!
I knew today was 'something', but after checking the calendar a few times, I convinced myself I was wrong and went to sew on one of my row robins. Then it hit me! clunk Today was Thimbleberries Sew Day! :-o
Sorry! Did anyone sew? Hopefully next month I'll have my head back~~ :-/
Have a wonderful evening!!

Sewing Fun
While I was on vacation, I made a purse for my Mom. I forgot to take a photo of hers, but I finished mine~~
It is the Blossom bag by Amy Butler. The pattern is free on-line if you google it. ;-) It was the first time I'd used upholstery fabric for a bag and let me tell you~ those seams got thick with the fabric, Peltex and other interfacing! I have enough scraps left that I am thinking about making a new wallet too. ;-)
The inside~ has 2 pocket inserts. The back one zips shut. Love it! :-)
It was a gorgeous day and our dogwood is in full bloom~ love it too!! :-)
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and commented on my last post. And I have 2 new followers~ welcome!! :-)
I guess you are wondering who won my giveaway? My in-house random number generator (DS) :-D chose.......

Feeling Lucky?
I was feeling really lucky when I won this wonderful FQ pack from Shabby Fabrics! My favorite Nancy Halvorsen fabrics too! :-) I still haven't opened it up~ its just too pretty! LOL
It might be a lucky day for you too~ I recently subscribed to Primitive Quilts and Projects and they sent the summer issue (which I already have.). Leah was so sweet and told me she'd credit my subscription and I could give this issue away! :-) So... would you like to win it? Just leave me a comment and you will go into the hat! I'll leave it open until Sunday. And who knows? I may tuck in a little surprise too! You don't have to be a follower this time, but if you want to be~ you won't miss the next giveaway. ;-) ;-)
Until next time~

Monday ~ Monday
I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things here. Does that happen to you after a trip too? The laundry is done, the suitcases put away, the house all tidy again... but I can't seem to get back into a routine. Soon, I hope! ;-)
I helped paint my parent's bedroom while I was visiting~ it is now a lovely hydrangea color. If my own bedroom wasn't papered~ I'd paint it the same color! I loved it, but didn't take a photo. :-/ Sorry about that! Anyway, on the last morning as we were packing the van to head home, my Dad surprised me with a gift for helping ~~
A treadle sewing machine!!!! :-)
It is a Wheeler and Wilson No 9. The paint has seen better days, but when I think about it~ it is amazing to me that it still exists. From the research I have done, Wheeler and Wilson manufactured machines out of Bridgeport, Connecticut between the mid 1800's to 1915 when they sold their business to Singer. I have no idea the age of this machine, but I know it is old. LOL I took it outside and polished the cabinet and the ironwork as best I could.
In the drawer was a box of attachments~ including the key to the drawer! That just amazed me! And the lock works! :-)
Instead of a leather belt, this machine has a spring belt. I also found a belt lock behind the cabinet, that makes the machine only run backwards~ I wonder if that was some sort of early child safety feature~ so if the children played on the treadle, they couldn't actually sew?
I still need to do a bit of rearranging to find the perfect spot for my new baby, right now it is in the center of the living room. LOL Thanks Dad!!! :-)
Thanks for all your sweet comments on my PIF from Terry~ I have already found the perfect spot for it on my little table beside my easy chair. It cheers me every time I sit to stitch. :-)
Since only three of you expressed an interest in joining my PIF, it made it easy for me. :-)
Terry, Lesley, and Cyndi are my three takers. :-) I'll email each of you shortly! Thanks for signing up!
I am off to see what the day brings~
