Mail!

Look who came home today! Isn't she adorable? Mama Turtle is from Sinta Renee at the Pink Pincushion. I won her in Sinta's 200th post giveaway. Oops, it looks like she has a little packing material under her eye, we'll take care of that! ;-) We cared for rescued turtles when we lived in TX and this one reminds me of one of the mama's. :-) Thank you Sinta!!

I'm Baa-aack!

Well, sort of... ;-)

We are all in one house~ the move took a week and really wore me out. We had a huge fiasco with getting cable/internet~ why is it that they always tell you it will be sooo easy to transfer, when in reality, it isn't? We have a temporary cable strung across our yard until they can drill under the driveway. Yikes. But!~ I don't have to go to the library! :-)) I have lots of boxes yet to unpack, but I am taking them one box at a time and not worrying. They'll eventually get done. ;-)

I feel like I've missed months of blogging when in reality, its only been a couple weeks! Time has a way of flying by, doesn't it?Have you heard about the new year of Schnibbles now named Le Petite? Check it out on Sinta's blog. :-) It sounds like loads of fun and we have a new button~
I did complete all 12 of the projects for the past year. Unfortunately, I didn't know we'd have to post all of them in the end, so I didn't keep track of photo's very well. I know I have more of them quilted than not, but I have no idea where my flash drive is, so I pulled photo's from my blog to show the 12 months.
Here we have Sept 09 to Feb 10~ Winter White, Cindy Lou Who, Picnic, the tuffets, Madeline and Sunday Best.
And the last 6 months~ Roundabout, Tagalong, Nice Day, State Fair, Joy Luck, and Plan C. I made the large version of Plan C and hope to quilt it by the end of October... if I can rent the longarm at the LQS.

I also missed posting about my Charming Girls Club accomplishments for July and August. Hopefully I can figure out what to do in September and October and get those up. :-) Still lots of boxes to wade through, so I'm sure that is going to figure prominently! LOL

Have a happy weekend and until next time~

I just wanted to let y'all know about an Accuquilt GO! giveaway~ Sweet P~ Paulette was lucky enough to try one out and give one away. Hop over and enter her giveaway. I'm really hoping I can win one sometime, but if I can't~ maybe you will! Good luck!!

Karen at Sew Many Ways is giving one away too. My fingers are sooo crossed!! :-))

We are in the final moving stretch! This week everything will be packed and moved to our new home. I'll probably not have internet for a few days, so if I win the GO! be sure to email me ok? LOL I'll check email at the library. ;-)

Until next time~

Ta-Da!

Ok, I know this really isn't 'ta-da' worthy to most of you, but to me it is a big deal to get my August Schnibble done. :-) This is the last month for our 'Year of Schnibbles' and I've managed to do every one in the month it was chosen, so I didn't want to fall out now. But with painting, running back and forth between houses, college shopping, (taking DS to college this week) and the packers showing up at my door on Friday, I knew my days were numbered. So I've been sewing every spare minute I could find for the past 2 weeks to get 'er done... and whew! I did it! :-)) This is the large version of Plan C from Carrie's Schnibbles Times Two book. I used Park Avenue by Moda for it. I picked the layer cakes up last month when I was retreating in Portland. :-)

Now it is time to pack up my sewing machine and stuff and take it to it's new home. I don't trust the movers with the majority of my sewing stuff, so we are taking it out ourselves. This will be my new sewing space~ yupper, the painting is finished! :-))

Until next time~

What Do You Collect?

LOL besides fabric! :-)

I have been meaning to show y'all my thimble collection. I didn't always collect thimbles~ my friend Lindsay hosted a swap and well, the rest is history! :-) I swapped the WA thimble in her swap. I thought that a state thimble would be easy to find~ boy was I wrong! I ended up ordering them from Illinois!! :-o One of the swappers really got creative and made the angel from a metal thimble. I don't think the little plastic thimble was part of the swap, I think I had that one.

Then my friend from Australia sent me this set. (sorry it is over exposed) All the thimbles have flowers from Australia on them. At Christmas last year she sent me the other two in the cute little red purse. :-)

When DH was returning this spring from deployment, their plane had a layover in Ireland and he bought these for me. :-)) I'm half Irish ~not the lucky half, the blarney half LOL :-))

I'm really looking forward to figuring out a way to display these in my new quilt studio. Any ideas? If my Dad read my blog, I'd hint to him to make me a little cabinet, but he doesn't. Rats! LOL :-)) (blarney half, remember?) :-))

We finished painting the living room and dining room at the house and today we worked in the cottage. We are making progress!

Until next time~
Have a happy week!!

Warning! Quilt Content!

LOL I thought I should warn y'all that I actually did a little sewing! :-) I have been hurrying to the house to paint during the day, then hurrying home to work on my July Schnibble at night. Finally~ I got it together! I just hope there isn't any paint on it! LOL I used my stash of oriental fabrics because I just couldn't think past the name of July's pattern- 'Joy Luck'. Tomorrow is the Schnibbles parade, so be sure to go to Sherri or Sinta's blogs for the show! :-)

At the house today, the 'floor guy' got the hardwood flooring in the family room. I thought it looked so funny all taped up~ he didn't want to have to dust the kitchen. LOL As we were leaving, he was busy sanding the floors to get them ready for the stain. (I forgot my camera today, so took these shots with my cell phone, sorry for the blur :-/

I'm off to put my tootsies in the air and look at the magazine I got in the mail today~
Until next time~

Happy Day!

Oh happy day! We finished painting the kitchen and family room today. Yay! :-)

This is looking into the kitchen. It really doesn't look that yellow in real life. The wall along the right side of the photo is the same color and probably truer to what it really looks like. It does have a light yellow tint to it. I was thinking, it would be really cool to stencil some ivy or something along the sides of the red in the kitchen, but not now. LOL Still way too much to do before moving day. Oh and the gray carpet? Comes out Tuesday. :-))

And we have some winners! (I know that is what you were looking for! LOL)

Hubby did the drawing for me~ the winners of the vintage sheet sets are Pieceful Afternoon and Sew Cindy! Congratulations! And the winner of the 30's FQ's is Needled Mom! Congratulations! :-)

If y'all could send me your snail mail addresses, I'll get your goodies in the mail tomorrow. :-)

That's all for now!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
