Charming Girls Club December Finishes~

So my goals for December were~

1. Finish up Bingo~Bonnie's December mini and My Blue Heaven blocks and get them mailed. Check~ they were mailed before Christmas. :-)
The block is called MyBlue Heaven and we found it on QuiltersCache.

2. I have got to cut into and start sewing my Fig Tree Club Quilt! :-)) Ok, make that 'want' instead of 'got'. ;-)) The fabric calls me every day. ;-) I have a few of the blocks together, and the whole quilt cut out. :-)

3. DS's 'Bears in the Forest' quilt is waiting for binding. Done and he is loving it!

4. I need to make a couple Tuffets for A Year of Schnibbles.Yup finished them and love them!

And YES! I did it! :-)
Next up I'll figure out my goals for January and one of them I will be working on this weekend~ my kids want me to make 'snuggies' :-) Have you seen the blankets with sleeves? They both think they would be great.

Happy New Year!

Thank You Santa!

Santa was really good to me this year! First, I wished for the Paris Travel Bag kit when the Fat Quarter Shop was having a little pre-Christmas fun~ and look what came in the mail! Complete with a wonderful note from Santa himself. :-) I can't wait to get started making it!

And then Santa was visiting Kelly @ Cotton Charm Quilts and look what he picked out for me!!
It arrived today and I am in love! :-)) Astor Manor is a fantastic line! I had to untie it and play with the fabrics before I could even think to get my camera! :-o And I think Santa has a really good sense of humor because look at the pattern he chose for me~ from the 'Crazy Old Ladies'! LOL I didn't know about them~ gee, I wonder if we are related! LOL :-) I'm really looking forward to a quiet January so I can sew-sew-sew!!! :-)

Thank you so much Kelly and the ladies at the Fat Quarter Shop! Y'all really made my day! :-)

December Schnibbles

The pattern for December was Tuffets from MissRosie'sQuilt Co. Tuffets are cute little pincushions. I wanted to use the selvages for one and ended up with two! :-)) The long skinny one uses the selvages of Mill House Inn from my Fig Tree club quilt~ Cobble Stones. I had to adjust the size a bit to accommodate the selvages I had left from cutting out the quilt. The square one is random autumn selvages. Then, since I had a few 'Gobble, Gobble' charm squares left, I used those in making the other one. Oh!~ these are addictive! :-) You know, no little bit is going to go unused now! LOL ;-)

Hope you are managing to find a little time to stitch too~
Until next time~
Have fun! ;-)

Just Catching Up~

I did manage to get the binding on DS's quilt and its been on his bed this week. While many of you are getting snow, snow, and more snow. It's been chilly but sunny here. So I got him outside for a photo of his finished quilt. :-) Just in case you are new to my blog, the pattern is from Judy L and a quilt-along she did. I call it 'Bears In the Forest' although her pattern was called 'Bears in the Farmhouse'. ;-) I forgot to get a shot of the back of the quilt~ maybe when it warms up a little he will humor me again. :-)

I also got a full photo of my Christmas Rails quilt that was in SewCalGal's Virtual Quilt Show. Although DS would like this one on his bed too, it is on the couch. I hope to finish up another Christmas quilt in 2010 and then maybe they will be on our beds next year. ;-) The back of this one is just an allover paisley green print. I didn't even have to piece anything. :-)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a will have a very bright New Year!
I'm so grateful to have y'all as my friends and am looking forward to lots of quilty inspiration in the new year. :-)
Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!

~Christmas Memories~

Kelly at Charming Chatter is having a wonderful Christmas Memories Giveaway and she invites us to look over her shop and make a list. :-) Did you notice the Stella Blue kit she is going to give to some lucky quilter? I love it!

It would make the most wonderful companion quilt to the MyBlue Heaven blocks I am swapping with Bonnie. Oh, I am so keeping my fingers crossed!! +++

She has some lovely patterns, fabrics, kits and things in her shop. It is so hard to make a list! I've never played with turnovers, honeybuns or any of those kinds of fabric bundles, so I'd wish for one of those and a pattern too. I love the Astor Manor line.

As for Christmas memories~ well, kids say the cutest things... When our oldest DS was maybe 4 years old, my DH got a new camcorder. It was a big monstrous thing and he put it on a tri-pod and recorded DS opening his gifts. DS loved, I mean totally loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Remember those? I found a package of 'turtle underwear' which I wrapped up to go with his turtle pj's, turtle shirt etc. He opens them and exclaims loudly 'underwear! Momma I needed new underwear!' ~totally oblivious to the turtles on them. And he told everyone that Santa knew he needed underwear. LOL Yup we have it on tape and the kids have giggled over that every year since! :-))

Wishing you many wonderful Christmas memories this year!

It's Beginning to Look~~

~~quite festive at my house! My mini and blocks from Bingo-Bonnie arrived on Friday! :-) And I was so surprised by Bonnie's mini! I love it! And it fits perfectly on my hall hanging rod. :-))

Bonnie sent the label separately (the cute little embroidered tree), so I need to pull out a needle and get it attached, but I just had to hang it up right away! LOL Thanks Bonnie!!

She also sent another 12 blocks for our block swap. In case I haven't mentioned it lately, we are swapping MyBlueHeaven blocks from QuiltersCache. We did re-size the pattern for our quilts, and we decided to have all the larger HST's with blue and the smaller ones scrappy. I am loving how all of our blocks are turning out! This will be a quilt for the new year. :-)

Thanks for visiting with me and until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

A Virtual Christmas Quilt Show~

Did you know about the Virtual Christmas Quilt Show that SewCalGal is having?? If you have~ I'll be around to see it! I'm a little behind, but I do have a quilt to show you! :-)

I made this quilt from a swap a few years back. We swapped the strip blocks following the swap leaders guidelines for placement of the strips, and the resulting rail fence quilt was born. :-) I quilted it last year~ just in time for Christmas and loved having it on the couch for snuggling in with a good book. ;-) This year, well, next year... I am going to try to finish a few more for our beds. :-))I just realized, I don't have a completed photo of this quilt! :-o When the lighting is better, I will have to fix that! LOL Thanks SewCalGal for the great show fun!

Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
