Time just doesn't stand still, does it? :-) I did finish some things while I was absent~
This is about my dozenth or more flannel/denim raggy quilt. The pattern I started with came from an old issue of Traditional Quilts magazine, but I have altered it a bit over the years. I don't have the magazine anymore, but the pattern is stuck in my head forever. LOL This is for a friend's DD for graduation. Aubrey loves brights, so I hope I hit the nail on the head. :-)
The front~
The back~
And I always embroider a square with the date. Her older brothers got the same quilts for their graduations and her Mom told me she has been hoping I would make one for her too. LOL
I also worked on some potholders for my Christmas Through the Year box~
First I made the green one using this tutorial~ Quilted Mitt Pot Holder
I put an extra layer of Warm and Natural in with the Insulated batting to give it a little more 'cush'. :-) Then I got to thinking about the denim pieces I had left from the quilt and thought the pocket would work great for a pot holder. So I came up with the other one.
Now I am thinking the denim one would also make a great Father's Day gift with some new tools for the grill... so that one may not make it until Christmas! LOL
Please go HERE to see some more wonderful CTTY projects and be inspired! ;-)
I hope you are finding time to sew too.
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!

I have not used the insulated batting for hot pads and such - how do you like - works ok to keep the heat out to the touch?
Great idea to use that pocket for a pot holder. I have a whole stack of pockets that I've been saving for future use. HMMM . . . gives me some ideas.
Those potholders are pretty cool. Love your denim rag quilt.
love the denim potholder! too funny!
neat projects- the denim pocket is a good idea. I have lots of pockets.
Love the denim quilt! Have jeans saved for another one so may try this idea. Can you share the size of the pieces in the block? The pocket hot pad is a very cute idea. Thanks for sharing!
