A Gorgeous Day

It is another gorgeous day here, but the weatherman says the rain is coming back.  This is my azalea bed
in front of our house. The tulips were all there when we moved here and I love their surprise appearance every year. :-)  See the dogwood starting to open in the back? :-)

As much as I would like to spend the day outside, I did sew a bit....

New placemats!  This was a workshop given at the retreat I went to last year. The instructor called them Chevron Placemats and she learned the technique from a friend. I do love how quilters share!  I did them in a quilt-as-you-go method so we could use them faster. :-) She taught the more traditional piecing, then quilting method.  It makes me look at those striped prints in a whole new way. :-)

I hope you are having a wonderful day and good weather too!
Happy Stitchin'!

Your yard is beautiful! I wish mine looked like that. It would be a happy sight to see every day. Love your placemats. I'm in the process of making some new ones since I decided to do some re-decorating.
Have a wonderful afternoon :-)

Never done quilt as you go, is it difficult? The placemats are so well done that they look like one piece of fabric. Wonderful!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
