Sewing, Sewing, Sewing~~

Or maybe that title should be 'Playing, playing, playing!' :-)

I'm having a 'sew' day!! As opposed to a snow day! ;-) It did snow today, but not enough to cause any problems. :-)

I cannot decide what to do with all my mini 9-patches. Today I tried a Jack's Chain block from QuiltersCache~~ oy! that is a lot of set-in seams!! :-o It would be a much better hand-piecing project than a machine project, but I'm not a hand-piecer! ;-) I think I'll look at more patterns... LOL

Next I played with my string blocks. For this round I asked for 30's prints with a red print center. One set the center doesn't stand out very well, but all the rest do. :-) I've not received all of them yet, and my table is already covered! I'm not sure how or what to do with these either. Originally, I was thinking about making things for my red kitchen :-) ...but now I'm not so sure I want to make a table covering or placemats from them! :-o Oh, what to do, what to do... :-)) Kind of a fun dilemma! LOL

Until next time~~

Happy Stitchin'!! :-)

I've always wanted to try the Jack's Chain block. Looks like those set in seams were no problem for you at all! I love the string blocks too. I'm a fan of 30's fabrics and patterns.

Wonderful to see a Jack's Chain. I have done the centre of a large quilt with JC and am now in process of appliquing the border. No one around where I sew had seen this pattern before. Love your 'strings' as well. Thanks for the look, Debs.

I did a search for that rotating mat - and take a look at that link above and tell me - which size do you have?? (bottom of the page)

I have a feeling with all these CYOC strings I have coming up soon, I can't wait until valentines!!! I need one now! LOL

thanks. ;) Love from Texas! ~bonnie

I like your string blks!! Really like the red - and with the center, use those blks on the outside edges instead of the center - won't be as noticable. I think it is going to work into a really nice quilt top!! And it would be fun to use as a table cloth - once in awhile!! You know those days that just need to be brighter, more summer like??? Use it then!!

I think with your mini's.... you have a hard decision to make!! And you love a challenge!! Make 'em into Jack's Chain!! Just think of how you can show of your quilting in the center!!! ;-)

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
