January Quiltathon Weekend~

And I'm sewing!! :-) This mess can only mean one thing... if you guessed string bocks, you are right!! Actually, there is a much bigger mess that I didn't photograph. LOL We swap the string blocks on the HGTV message boards. Everyone chose their own colors for the strings and the center. Then we make the blocks and mail them to each other. I have received about half of the blocks from this swap~ I'll post a photo of them soon. ;-) Today I worked on blocks for those swappers who chose brights, florals and 30's. I have lots more 30's blocks to make! I think finishing up 20 blocks is good! I have about a quarter of the blocks finished. I'll work some more tomorrow and all next week until I am finished~ once you make the mess, you might as well keep going! :-)) LOL

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!!

It's amazing how much you can accomplish once you just settle down and start sewing! Looking good. Cheers! -Evelyn

What fun to swap. They look bright, crisp and cheery. I did a couple testers for a different string quilt. Kind of nice to do simple sewing and see blocks pile up. I'll add a pic maybe later on my blog. Hmmm, I think I did a top like your blocks. Will have to look in the UFOs - maybe finish it.

I love the serendipity of this sort of sewing. It's a great way to shut out the world and Make something!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
