As soon as I finished the blue/yellow string block quilt that y'all saw in July, I joined the next swap. :-) This time my color choice was autumn shades with black centers. Although this isn't a very good photo, you can see the blocks I have received so far. Since each participant gets to choose the colors they would like their blocks to be, I have been searching my stash for some of the choices! They range from citrus ( bright yellow, green and orange) to pastels, to black and whites. The blocks are so easy to make! They are great for those times when you'd just like to do a little 'mindless sewing'. :-) I have 3 more sets to make for others before I can concentrate on mine. I'm planning to make more so I can make a throw quilt for over the couch during the cooler autumn temps.... might be perfect for snagging a nap every once in a while. ;-)
Here's hoping you are snagging some time to sew this weekend too!~
Happy Stitchin'!

I've never made string blocks but I can see it's another good way to use up scraps and how you put the blocks together is endless. How kewl is that? cheers, QGB
What you have so far looks great! I am sure it will provide the best snuggle factor once completed! 8-)
Happy stitchings!
Hey Crazy -ya know, I've been following the CYOC string block swap...and was almost on board to swap too but then reminded myself I need to be responsible and just concentrate on my one mini 9 patch swap first and wait - there's SURE to be ANOTHER! :)
I love your autumn strings - sofa size sounds perfect and also a great size to take along for a fall picnic, ball games, or even pumpkin carving.
...oh and if you are like us - we like to sit out on the porch as the kids walk up to trick-or-treat! ;)
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
