Quiltathon Weekend

I had a great weekend! Mainly, I cut because I'm off to a retreat next weekend and wanted to have my projects all cut out and ready to go. Our family HS graduation gift is a raggy denim/flannel quilt. I've made them for all the boy graduates we've known for the past few years and they have always been very well-received. Well, this year DD graduates and I didn't think she'd really want a denim/flannel quilt. Boy was I wrong! She not only wants one for herself, but for her best girlfriend too. :-) And we do have a boy graduate this year too. So... I recycled denim for 3 quilts! They are all cut out and ready for the sewing. Whoohoo!

Next I worked on Honeyberries. I trimmed up/squared up all the blocks for the final steps. I did make it to my sewing machine to start assembling them, but forgot to take a photo! Maybe I'll be able to get back to them tomorrow.

Thanks for the inspiration for a great weekend Judy! :-)

These quilts are so addicting! Now my problem is deciding if I want the flannel on top or the bottom! They look cool both ways!

well, I just sent a comment to the post at the top and asked if you had a great weekend - and I bet you did since you went to your retrat this weekend!!! :) You lucky girl you, get to get away from the house... oh how I dream of that day a few years from now ;)

these denim/flannel quilts sound like they are a hit if you are getting requests and for their BFF too!! Do they supply you with their old jeans??? I think that would be even more of a special treasure if it were made with all their old jeans they wore.

I'd love to have a quiltathon... btu for now, I will enjoy reading about everyone elses. ;) ~bonnie

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
