Rose Colored Glasses Hop

Hello! and welcome to my day in the Rose Colored Glasses Blog Hop!

I don't own 'rose' colored glass~ mine are ruby. :-)

I found them one year in the Target dollar section right before Valentines Day. And I love them for deciding on value of certain fabrics~

Yes, you can now use your cell phone and gray out your pix and get the same effect. But my glasses are handy, while my cell phone often is not. ;-)

So, our challenge was...

"Your sewn project must have one or more of the following:"

Rose/pink fabric
Eyeglasses
Roses
Positive Words

~Carol @justletmequilt

My project is a rose colored hooded towel for one of my DGDs!

They all love unicorns. :-) I think I will be making more. LOL

The machine embroidery design is from Designs By Juju HERE

Even if you don't embroider, you will love Juju's tutorial for making a hooded towel.  There are NO exposed seams! Check it out HERE

With pool season underway, surely you know someone who would love a hooded towel when they get out of the water. ;-)

I hope you enjoyed my post; be sure to check out all my fellow Wednesday bloggers~~

May Already!!!

Where has the year gone?!

I look away from my calendar and another month passes.  Do you feel the same?

A new month means a new blog hop~

And I will give one hint~

you will never guess what I made! LOL

In other news, I completed a few patriotic things and I think I just might display them until after the 4th of July. I like them that much!

Both are in the hoop designs from Designs by Juju. If you have a 5 x 7 hoop, you can make these too!

 Until next time~

go make something!!

Happy Stitchin'!

Say What?!

Welcome to day 4 of the Say What?! Blog Hop!

I had so many ideas for this hop, but finishing a project for my DGD won out. :-)

I cut the appliques for this pillowcase using my Crafter's Edge Cutting System & dies.

She is 4 and her name begins with an 'M'...we often tease her that her name must be monkey. LOL So she needed a monkey pillow case. I added the letters because she loves letters and pointing them out to us. She also loves her smaller pillow.

I got carried away and cut out another~

And then I sewed a smaller one using up scraps~
I enclosed all the raw edges in all of them, and put an inside flap to hold the pillow in place. The flap depended on the WOF I had~ this one was a good 4.5".

Others were a bit shorter, but they all work.

And then I really got carried away and made a bunch of adult size pillowcases. Can you guess how many I made? :-)

I have really enjoyed this hop and all the interesting things other bloggers have made! I hope you have too. Be sure to visit today's bloggers!

And a special thank you to Joan @moosestashquilting for thinking up this fun topic!

Little Green Apples Hop~~

Have you been doing the hop?

Hoppin' around the blogs?  :-)

I just love hops! They inspire me to try new things. And Carol @Just Let Me Quilt thought up this fun idea! Thank you Carol!!

This challenge was to make something green or with apples or both! I chose both! I found this very cute apple core pattern at Sassafras Lane Designs.

Shayla & Kristy have so many fun FREE patterns!

I had to make it because my hubby is a green apple lover~ the sour ones! :-)

So I made this little mini to hang in our office.  I strayed from the pattern ever so slightly by adding the seeds, and making smaller borders. Now I think I may have to go back and make all the fruit blocks! (did you go look?!)  My fabrics for the core are a little light on the left~ I never realized I didn't own creamier neutrals!  I don't have a lot of greens either so I had to repeat a couple. It is all good! Like in nature, all apples aren't perfect! :-)

Be sure to visit my fellow bloggers today~

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
