A Fun Little Pattern Test--

Good morning!

I found an extra day this week and stitched together this fun little table topper. ;-)

The pattern is from Bea of Beaquilter

...and is called ' Blooming Onion'.  I saw sunflowers. LOL

It is a great little stash busting project! I used her rotary cutting directions and everything went together so smoothly.  I even made the binding already! (so unlike me!! LOL) It will be the green with a peek of the rust.

If you are looking for a fun little sew, check out her pattern~ psst! it is on sale for a limited time. ;-)

Until next time~

Happy stitchin'!!

More Secret Sewing Revealed!

Have you figured out that I just love to pattern test?

And I work with the best designers!!

Joanne from Canuck Quilter

has just released 3 new patterns!  Check them out from the link above. :)

I was lucky enough to test 2~

'Shuffle' is a really fun table runner and placemat set.

I made them for my son as his home overlooks a bay. There are little lighthouses in the print fabric.

I plan to quilt them with a wave-type design. I haven't been able to do any quilting lately because I don't want any smoke from the wildfires to get into my cottage. So the door is firmly locked for now. ;-)

I also tested 'Stellar Breeze' which my DD claimed the minute she saw it! LOL

Actually, she only saw the fabrics and was already claiming it as 'her colors'. ;-)

I am planning to do a soft minky back with an open quilting design.

I am not sure why my photos are darker~ my camera? the weather?  I never seem to have much luck with photos outdoors. If you click on the pix you will get a better photo.

Check out all Joanne's patterns at her Etsy HERE

And did I mention they are on sale for a limited time? ;-)

Until next time~

Hello Maggie!

Some fast & furious secret sewing and I finished a pattern test! :-)

This is The Maggie Quilt from

Kitchen Table Quilting

Isn't she a beauty?  And my lighting wasn't the best taking these photos last night. You can click them for a bigger view.  I used all turquoise blues with a grey background and my white plus blocks actually have a little black + in the fabric. ;)

This is the twin size and measures 78" x 93", so plenty of room for a pillow tuck and drop on the sides. :)

You can find more about the pattern on Kitchen Table Quilting's website~ and hurry! It is on sale this week. ;)

Until tomorrow!

Happy October and

Happy Stitchin'!!

Hi! Questions~~~

As I was trimming 'what-seems-like  my zillionth' Flying Goose Unit, I wondered~

Is there an easier way?

How do you make Flying Geese?

I have been using the no-waste method, but you still need to stop and measure every single one and trim when necessary. So, what do you do?

In other news :-)

I am following along with the Happy Cloud Creations, Starlight Mountains sew along on Facebook. You can find all the info in the blog link-> HERE

Here are my Week 1 & Week 2 blocks.

Monday we will get a new section to work on. :-)

I have a couple of pattern tests in the works, so will be back with those when they are released.

In the meantime, tell me~ do you like the new blogger? ;-)

Until next time~

Are You A Bag Maker?

...or a wannabe bag maker?
Or maybe you would like to try one easy pattern to see if you like it?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then my latest test is something just for you!

I had the pleasure of testing the 'Clutch Me Tight'  pattern by Cheslia Daywalker recently and was very impressed by the directions. Not only does the designer have very clear photos, she explains why we do the things we do in bag making. :-)  And also gives you a few options and how to do those. It is a great pattern for a beginning bag maker.

I made my sample from quilters cotton with a faux leather flap & gusset.
I added a large back pocket for my sunglasses. ;-)

My strap is half quilters cotton/half faux leather and will also work as a crossbody strap; or can be removed and the bag can be a clutch.

I made both the inside zipper pocket and slip pocket.

The pattern will be available very soon!
You can find it here--->  Daywalker Customs Scroll down a little bit. ;-)

Until next time~

Still Sewing Over Here!

Have you ever noticed the fun little quilt cards,
usually next to the register in your favorite LQS? I will
not tell you how many I have purchased. :)

Earlier this month I had the good fortune to test one of those quilts!!
'Kaleidoscope' by Running Doe Quilts designed this little cutie!

Measuring 56 x 74, it is the perfect size for my DGD's small twin bed.  I am thinking about
putting minky on the back. ;-)
The photos really don't do the fabrics justice. Most of the fabrics have a little gold sparkle in them. :-)

Be sure to go to Running Doe Quilts and check out all the fun patterns!
She also has a Top-Along (LINK) going on Instagram or Facebook where you make a top (doesn't have to be quilted!) each month to be eligible for some awesome prizes!
Just a few more days in August to get registered, but you will be in on the fun for the rest of the year. ;-)

Until next time~

Pattern Release~

Kris of KM Designs released her newest pattern this week.
This litttle Grab 'n Go clutch is that and more!
It has card and cash slots inside, as well as a zipper pocket,
room for your phone or other necessities. ;-)

I tested it using the same fabric as I had used when I made her Hullabaloo Hobo bag so it can be a set. ;-)

She gave the pattern testers 'free reign' to add or change as we liked, and then she added our changes to the pattern!!   How fun is that?!  I added the outside pocket. It also has a carry strap that I omitted.

Be sure to check out all the fun photos on her site and grab this pattern while it is on sale!
You won't be sorry. ;-)

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
