Home Again! Home Again!

Jiggety-Jig! LOL  Remember that childhood poem? or am I really dating myself? :-)

We took most of June and visited our familes in SD.
I thought I might be able to post while gone, but that didn't work out. :-o

I have much to share!! :-)
But first I need to get my laundry done, photo's resized etc.
So in the mean time I want you to go visit Missie~
She blogs at ~~Traditional Primitives~~
Just look at what she found!

~photo borrowed from Missie~

Isn't that just the cutest?! I was in a couple McD's and never spotted them! :-(
I've got my fingers crossed to win one from Missie ;-) But if I don't~ maybe you will?

I'll be back soon!
Have a happy weekend!!

June!!

Are you as shocked as I am that it is June already??
Where did May go? :-)

For me, it was spent cooking~ DS is home from college. LOL
I forgot how important meals can be! ;-)
And I did get some sewing done, but not much~
more time was spent outside with my flowers. :-)

I finally caught myself up with Pam Buda's Market Day Sew-Along.

This is Steps 5 and 6~

As I was doing the HST's I snapped a photo of a quick trick.
When I only have a couple HST's to do, I cut the squares and draw the line
and sew on either side. I'm sure you probably do that too?

But, I keep a big nail file with my sewing supplies for this step~
It works great to hold the fabric to draw the lines. No wiggling out from
under the ruler at the corner. :-)

Do you have some things that don't necessarily belong in your sewing box, but
work great? I'd love to hear your tips and hints!

Happy June!!

Monsters! Oh My!

I made this tote bag today from some scraps of canvas,
interfacing and fleece scraps. I found the pattern in the most recent
Sew-It... Today magazine, but I had to make some changes. ;-)
I put pockets around the inside, and used some Decor Bond to
give it more shape.
Its for my DGS.  I could not find a single crayon to put in its mouth,
so I used the white ones I have for hand embroidery projects.
I will definitely buy some before I give this away. ;-)

Hope this finds you having some fun times sewing too!
Until Next time~

~Catching Up!~

Gosh, I think that could be the title for over half of my posts!
It seems like I am always a step behind~ and getting back in bed and getting up out of the other side does not help! :-) LOL

I finally caught up with Steps 2 & 3 of the Market Day Sew-Along that Pam @ Heartspun Quilts is hosting.
I set two rules for myself~
I can only use my scraps~ no cutting from FQ's or other yardage.
And use what I have~ which kind of repeats the first rule,
but it keeps it in my head. :-)

I am doing both the regular size version and the mini.
One in my CW fabrics and the mini in little bits of brighter
fabrics.

So far I like it! Although my CW backgrounds do need replenishing!
I had a hard time finding lights in my stash. I'm thinking these may end up as stars :-)

Tomorrow the next step is revealed.
I'm happy to be caught up!

Until ext time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

Simply Small

over the weekend and I forgot to blog about my project! :-o

I loved this pattern!  And with the little cut off corners I made a mini
or mug rug, or tea rug or whatever. ;-)

The mini charm pack I used was called Harvest Moon
by Kansas Troubles. I just did a little all over
swirly, loopy quilting.

Be sure to visit Sherri's and see the rest of the parade. :-)

Busy days at my house, but I'll be back with my little
blocks for the Heartspun Quilts sew along soon~ they are turning out
so cute!!

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

~Schnibble Fun~

I have been really bad this year about keeping up with the 'Another Year of Schnibbles' sew alongs!
This month is the exception! LOL
When Sherri and Sinta said to pick any mini pattern
I immediately knew my choice! :-)

I have had the round & round pattern in my hot little hands for a
bit, and want to make the large quilt. BUT~ it also has the mini
in the pattern. Yay!

I did mine in scrappy reds. I just adore red & white quilts!
I hope to get it quilted later this week, but it
seems since Spring has sprung here~ I am out digging in the dirt
more than sewing. :-o

Be sure to check out the parade tomorrow at Sherri and Sinta's blogs!

Happy Stitchin'!!

Sewing Along?

Today Step One of
Pam Buda's Market Day Sew Along
is posted on her blog~

She has directions for a little mini too! :-)
I decided to use my CW scraps for the regular sew-along
and some bold and brights for the mini~

Oh! This is going to be fun!!!

Anyone sewing along? :-)

Until next time~
Happy Sewin'!!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
