My favorite Schnibble... Schnibbles?

This month Sinta and Sherri asked us to blog about our favorite Schnibble pattern from the past 'Another Year of Schnibbles' parades.  How can anyone pick just one?

As I look through my photo album I am struck by how many I have made! And I love them all!  Although I haven't been able to get 'Bounce' quilted yet, it is one of my favorites.

I really need for the weather to warm up some so I can go quilting!
Another favorite is 'Bibelot'...

I made it into a pillow which we use every day. (binding wasn't sewn down when the photo was taken)

And then there is..

'Drop' ~ I loved playing with the tiny pieces! This one is quilted, but I guess I didn't take a photo because I can't find it! :-/

Ok, I could go on and on~ there was Speck, and Summer Day, and Doc~ oh my!  :-)  And the houses~ another large pillow we use a lot. :-)

I'll stop. You get the idea. :-) I am really looking forward for more challenges is 2013. Thanks so much Sherri and Sinta and of course, Carrie~ the wonderful designer of the patterns we love~ Schnibbles!!

Until next time~
Happy stitching!

FNSI

Last night was Friday Night Sew In at Heidi's ( handmade by Heidi blog) and I got to play! :-)

I wanted some Valentine's around the house so I cut and sewed wedges to make this table topper~

Then I cut more wedges for another one! :-)

Whew! I had a blast! It is so nice to stay home and spend a night sewing with friends around the world! Stop over at Heidi's and see who was sewing with me. ;-)

Until next time~

A Little Fun~

I love thrift store shopping!  I rarely find whatever I am looking for, but I find other treasures. ;-)
Last week Heather, on the Vintage Sheet Blog showed
I loved the very first photo!  So a-thrifting I went! LOL
I altered the pillowcases I found to use as quilt top covers.
I have a small stack of tops that need quilting~ and I thought hanging would be better than stacking. So I sewed buttonholes to the tops of the cases so a hanger could fit through.

Whoohoo! Tops neat and tidy. With their backings hanging with them. :-)

One pillowcase I found was longer~ for those body pillows and it was exactly a print my DD would like. So I put a buttonhole in the top of it for a garment bag for her. Much better than having those plastic cleaners bags in your closet! :-)

Can you see the buttonhole? My thought was that by doing it this way, they could always be
used as pillowcases again should a need arise. :-)

DD's is getting put up for Christmas. The first project in my Christmas Through the Year basket. Yay!
Kim, at Lily Patch Quilts will be the hostess this year, so I'll be linking to her later in the month. Maybe I can go thrifting and find another case for DD before the end of the month. ;-)

I hope you are finding inspiration around you too!
Until next time~
Happy stitching!!

Time..

Am I the only one having trouble with time management this year?  It seems like I have been doing a lot of "wheel-spinning" lately. :-/  I don't remember if I had as hard a time getting going in 2012 as I seem to be having this year.  How about you?

I am stitching at night~ this is my start on my Winter Wonderland project. I love to embroider, but it does seem like I am wading through deep snow on this one. ;-)

I've been following along with Pam Buda's Patchwork Pocket BOW and here is week two. It was a new-to-me-technique and I really enjoyed it. I love playing in scraps! LOL

I've also been organizing, or reorganizing, to find a better storage solution. I love the inspiration of looking at blogs and Pinterest and seeing how organized other quilters are~ maybe it will be me someday. ;-)

Last week I won a giveaway from Annie at Ruby Slipperz and received this book in the mail. :-) Thanks Annie!!

I love the quilt on the red chair!! I don't think I should be looking at new projects right now~ but... I am soooo tempted!! LOL  :-o

How are you doing with the new year? Sewing away? Have your plans for the year? Or having a hard time getting into it?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Until next time~
Happy Stitching!!

Stitch-Stitch

I had a very productive weekend and loved it!

I know it doesn't seem like much, but i haven't been behind my machine in so long, that even getting the BOM's going was huge for me!

First I am doing the Country Threads BOM. I couldn't talk myself out of it. LOL ;-)  Here are the January stars.

Then Pam Buda at Heartspun Quilts started a little Patchwork Pockets block of the week~ next block will be posted Friday. So I made it up~  sorry its a little blurry. It is just 4 inches finished. :-)

And finally, 'Slim' got his decorations on. LOL He is from the Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  His eyes are really black buttons~ they just caught the light oddly. :-/

I'm pretty sure the photo's will enlarge if you click on them.

This week I hope to get borders on the Row Robins I did last year. Wish me luck?

Until next time~
Happy stitching!

Getting My Year Started...

I've worked a bit ahead on my BOM but I can't show you that! Too many of the ladies now peek into my blog. LOL  (hi Jill!)

But I've got lots of other things in the works~~
First, my new  DGD needs a quilt.  I was having a hard time coming up with a pattern/idea and a friend came to the rescue!  She gifted me a project she was no longer interested in finishing. The colors were perfect!  And with a little playing around I came up with this~

My friend had all the fabrics for the top and a couple blocks cut out, as well as all the big green flower-like squares. I think I got the fun part! I sewed a few more blocks and played. LOL  Now I need to get it quilted~ as soon as the weather warms up a bit I headed off to do lots of quilting! ;-)

Slim the Snowman is a project from the Primitive Quilts magazine.  It was love at first sight. LOL And since I got some of the new binder clips in my Christmas stocking, I am going to give them a try. After the binding is on, the fun begins~ adding wool embellishments, buttons, etc. :-)

And when I don't have binding to sew down, I like to stitch in the evenings. I purchased this pattern last fall when visiting Branson, MO. It is Crabapple Hills 'Over the River and Through the Woods'. The tracing took a little time, but last night I finally got to get a little stitching in. :-) There are 2 more panels after this one..so this is definitely a long-term stitching project!

I hope you are finding plenty to keep you in stitches too!
Until next time~
Happy Quilting!!

Have a Happy!

Have a hap! hap! Happy New Year!! :-) I can't get that little song out of my head! LOL

A new year. A fresh slate. New projects.  Do you have a list made? Have you found some BOM's you are planning to do?

I am doing the HGTV message board BOM again this year. I had a blast last year and just love my quilt~which I plan to get quilted this year!  Today, being the first of the month, our first block went up~

It is called Noon and Light from Quilter's Cache and the ladies on the board are busy choosing their colors already. :-)  This year we are going to be keeping some secrets until our 'big reveal' in December. Everyone is choosing a second block~ a chain type block~ to go along with the BOM blocks. I have my quilt planned and am really looking forward to the fun!

I also discovered a BOM by Country Threads (thanks Mary!) that I can't seem to get out of my head! Would anyone like to join me in a sew along? :-)

And finally, Kim at Lily Patch Quilts has taken over the Christmas Through the Year duties this year. I had such fun last year with Darlene and Cheryl, that I am planning to join in this year too.  :-)

What are your plans for the year??

Until next time~
Happy Stitching!!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
