Happy Wednesday!

I'm still sewing here! :-) I just finished all the HGTV BOM blocks for the rest of the year. I wish I could show you!~ but you will have to wait until December to see them all. I'll continue to show you the new one each month though. ;-)

Once the blocks were finished, it was time for a little spring cleaning. :-/ Yes I know~ yuk! But it is a necessary evil. At least for me. LOL ;-) And I've got this to entice me to hurry up and get it finished~
The second Fig Tree Club project! This time it is a table runner that will look great on my dining room table! :-) I can't wait to dig into it~ notice I had to open it up and touch the fabrics. ;-) Back to work with me so I can play sooner! LOL

Until next time~

Design Wall Monday~

I am busily working on the HGTV quilters message board BOM blocks for the year. One of the nice things about co-sponsoring the BOM is that I know all the blocks. ;-)) I can't show you my progress because we have a little guessing game every month and I'm sure some of the ladies check here for hints. ;-) LOL These are the blocks so far~ January to April. We are also making a mini block to go along with the big block. I know I'm nerdy, but I like figuring out the 4 inch blocks! LOL :-)) I did a few variations of the one block, just for fun. ;-)

Today I am working on October's blocks. ;-)
Back to work~ until next time~
Happy stitchin!

Tote Sewing~ Finished!!

Whoohoo! :-))
I finished it! :-)) The pattern is called Grids and Grommets by Indygo Junction. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be, but has lots of inside pockets, so no worries. ;-)

Thank you to Kris at Dandelion Quilts for the fun day! And thanks to all of you for your wonderful comments and encouragement today! :-)

Now I'm off to do some blog-visiting! ;-)

***I was just looking at the Indygo Junction website and discovered that they have clarified this pattern from the version I have. I wrote to them for their clarifications and we'll see if they are more helpful. They have a lot of pattern corrections on their site~ Pattern Corrections. Be sure to check it out if you have this pattern***

Happy Stitchin'!!

Tote Sewing ~3

Still working here.... :-)
It might be me, but I think not~ these directions leave a lot to be desired! :-o A few illustrations would be nice!! :-/ I finally~ finally!!~ have the bag together and grommets in place. Now to cover the cord for the handle~ which I have been futzing with for the last hour!! Yes, I am a little frustrated but I am also determined! ;-)) I figured it out, but it would've been so much simpler if they would just add a couple illustrations to their directions. This is the first Indigo Junction pattern I have ever made, and next time... if there ever is a next time!... I will open it in the store and see if it is any clearer. ;-) Whew! I have never had to struggle so much to follow directions! ;-)

I think a little chocolate is in order. :-)) And then off to work on the handle. ;-)

Hope you are having a successful day!! :-)

Tote Sewing 2~

Time for a little break. :-)
Plan A~ the tote I already had the pieces cut for didn't pan out. I remembered the reason I stopped~ I needed D-rings. :-o Since I forgot to get them, I went on to Plan B. :-)) The Grommet Bag by Indigo Junction. I have the outside together and am now working on the lining.
Which reminded me of one of my favorite pocket tips. :-) When you are making pockets that you need to then turn right side out, I always sew one stitch across the corner, instead of sewing to the corner point and pivoting. That one stitch will give you a perfectly square corner once trimmed and turned out. I learned that one back when I made a lot of clothes and the collar points were always a little stressful. Try it~ perfect points every time! :-) {I think you can get a better view if you click the photo)
Ok, back to work. I am trying to do lots of things at once today and the dryer just beeped. ;-) I'll be around to visit y'all a bit later~

Whoohoo! Keep on sewing!! :-)

Tote Bag Sewing Party

I have patterns and fabric and even a few things cut out~ let's see what I can accomplish today! :-))
To check out all today's Tote Bag Sewing party-goers, go to Dandelion Quilts.

Whoohoo!
Let's Sew!! :-)

CG&GQC Tag

Joan has tagged us with these questions this month~

1. which magazines do you prefer?
2. have you ever made any projects from those magazines? and
3. maybe you want to show us the project(s)?

1. This is hard because I love magazines! LOL :-) I think this year, my favorites have been American Patchwork and Quilting and Quiltmaker.
2. I am currently working on the Piece & Goodwill quilt (see blocks in last post) from the Nov/Dec '09 issue. And the latest issue of AP&Q has loads of quilts I love!~ its like the issue was made for me! :-) Whether or not I will actually get to make any of them is an entirely other story! ;-) Many times it seems the magazines I read are more for inspiration, and then I go off and do my own thing. ;-)

3. I'm sure you've seen the Piece & Goodwill blocks enough already! LOL I just deleted a lot of my old photo's so I don't have any other photo's handy right now, but yes, I have made things from magazines. :-)

In other news~ tomorrow is.....
Are you joining in the fun? Hop over to Dandelion Quilts to check it out. I have a tote I started a while back and it is time to pull it out and finish it! :-) Hope to see you sewing too!

**Sorry my fonts are all goofy~ I didn't realize that would happen when I just copied Joan's questions. :-o

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
