Design Wall Monday~

I did not know that if you mistakenly hit enter twice, your post would publish without anything in it! :-o Yup I did that after putting in the title. Yikes. ;-) Hope you didn't stop by before I fixed my little boo-boo. :-))

I've had this quilt done for a few weeks, but couldn't show you as it was my entry in the 'Scraps to Treasures' Challenge on the HGTV quilters message board. Every year those who sign up send in 6.5 inch squares of 2 fabrics. Our hostess, swaps them and what we get back~ 2 squares from every participant~ we have to make something with. We also get to add a yard of fabric and any bonus squares we 'earned' during the challenge~ thru little games etc. It's usually quite the challenge because the fabrics are so different! Some of the ladies really rose to the challenge this year and I 'd like you to go take a look at their quilts~ Scraps to Treasures Challenge 2009. Did you notice 'Deconstructed'? I just loved it! The board members are invited to vote for their favorites in the categories. I was surprised mine was in the winners! :-) There were so many great entries!

So although my design wall is empty today~ its not because I haven't been busy! Next up is the mini quilt I am making for my friend Bingo-Bonnie. It's a surprise, so no photo's of that today. ;-)

September Schnibble Sewing~

Say that three times fast? :-) LOL
My September 'Winter White' Schnibble is finished! I was a bit worried about finishing in time, but put the final stitches in and washed her up yesterday. :-) Yay! I had some Lecien fabrics I was saving and decided that this little quilt would be perfect for them. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough so had to make the blocks a little bit smaller. ~ I worked it to use the most fabric I could and ended up with a 2.5 x 6 inch piece of the blue left. Whew! I'm sorry the colors aren't as bright as real life~ it was a gray day yesterday. :-/

I know many of y'all have been worrying about Barb from Bejeweled Quilts. When I saw the news about the tsunami yesterday I dashed her off an email, hoping she had power. I heard back from her! Yay! She said they are doing good. I was so relieved! I don't know anymore than that, and I'm sure she'll blog when she is able. It is such a relief just to get that email! Please join me in keeping her and her family in your T&P's.

More Quilting Fun~

I also quilted 2 black, white & red quilts while I was using the HQ16. Close up's~








I used panto's for both and after all this quilting~ I can safely say, I learned a lot!! :-)

~Monday, Monday~

..And I have zip! zilch! nada! on my design wall floor! BUT~ that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!! :-)) I have a pile next to my sewing machine! At the top is 'Scnibbles'~ and I hope to show you that later this week. ;-) And right below it is~~ Judy L's 'Bears in the Forest'~~ awaiting binding! Yes~ it is quilted! :-)) I am working on the binding next.

Here it is sans binding~I don't think I have enough of the dark green left, so need to do a bit of shopping before I can sew it on. :-/


And the close up shows the design I used to quilt it. Kind of interlocking pine trees~ to go with 'Bears in the Forest'... get it? :-) LOL
