Two More Settings~

Still playing with my blocks here! :) This is the 'barn-raising' setting. I know I said I wouldn't do this one, but I had to see how it looked! :-) If I were to choose this one, I'd arrange the lights so each square had close to the same value, making them stand in rounds a little better.

I'd do the same thing in this setting~ called 'furrows'. The lines would stand up more if the lights were of like value through a line~

In the setting I showed yesterday, I'd keep them more mixed up. Isn't it interesting the different effects that different settings give?

I have one more to try... which do you like best so far?

I have a favorite, but won't say it yet. ;-)

Until later~

What To Do, What To Do....

Thank you so much for your comments about my blocks! Yesterday was a very exciting day! :-)

I'm having a 'fun Friday' playing with all these blocks! :-) 80 blocks take up a lot of floor space! LOL :-)) I'm not sure this will be the layout, and I can already see a few I'll change if it is, but I am enjoying playing. :-) I think these could be arranged any way that a log cabin is arranged~ barn raising, furrows etc. I already have one autumn quilt in a barn raising-type setting, so I won't do that one again, but otherwise there are a lot of possibilities. I'm going to keep playing until crawling around on the floor becomes too much. ;-)

I hope you've been finding fun things to do on Friday too!

Until next time~

They're Here!! :-)

The mailman brought me the blocks from my friend! If you've been following me for a bit, you know that I have been making Ocean Waves blocks for a while. (click on the label below to see other posts about the blocks) My friend and I each made 2 blocks and then this past Tuesday we mailed each other our duplicate sets~ and mine came today! Yay! :-)) We sent a few extra's in case we didn't care for one (not likely!), or had used the same fabrics, or 'just in case'. Our quilts need 80 blocks, so we sent 44. She surprised me with a 45th! LOL, maybe she just got on such a roll she lost track! ;-) This is a photo of all of them. Now I need to find a big batting piece so I can put them all out and play! It's really funny, because we both love autumn fabrics, but I can only spot one that we used the same fabric! :-) Kind of amazing! ;-)

Have a happy day and until next time~

Pincushions!~

Remember a while back I showed you a photo of the pincushions I sent off to swap? Well I got 'the package' today! :-) Look at all these wonderful pincushions! :-)

When I first saw the little red purse, I was hoping it would land in my box~ and it did! :-)) Isn't it cute? Under the purse flap is a little felt for needles. Very clever!

And just look at the bee hive! The pin heads have bees on them! And the ladybug has a velvet covered button for a head!~ cute cute!

Oh, they are all just wonderful! The pear has a little charm attached, I don't know if you can see it in the photo. And the yellow bird has beading, and sits on a large button~ very stable! And check out the chocolate ice cream cone! LOL Some of these I will use, some I think will decorate my little sewing area, but all of them will put a smile on my face! :-)

Hope you are having a happy day~

Until next time,

Happy Stitchin'!!

What's On Your Design Wall Monday~

Following along with Judy L's fun... It is still Butterfly Blooms by Cozy Quilt Designs. Argh! The same thing as last week! :-o I did too much playing with the pouches to get the borders on. :-o Oh well~ maybe this will be a better week. ;-) At least I did pick it up off of the floor! :-))

I'm still gathering stuff for my 200th post giveaway~ (see previous post). I'm adding one of the pouches, and of course, it will have to have some fabric! :-)

Have a happy day!~

And happy stitchin'!

200th Post!

I cannot believe I have posted 200 times! :-o I didn't think I'd have that much to say! LOL :-)

In celebration, I am giving away a new bag pattern I found. It is called the Carmen Convertible Tote and Bag and is from Serendipity Studios. Sorry my photo got a little washed out~ you can see it on the link. ;-) When I saw it, I thought y'all might like it too. :-) I'll add some other goodies, but I won't tell those just yet. ;-)

For my faithful followers, you don't need to do a thing~ I'll enter you 3 times just for being my follower~ but if you do want to give me a hello, I'll increase your chances to 5. :-) I know I have readers who aren't followers, so if you comment on this post, I'll throw you into the hat too, and if you've been commenting before today, I'll give you another 2 entries too. :-) You do not need to publish this giveaway on your blogs~ why dilute your chances?? LOL :-))

I'll draw the winner next Sunday (my time) ~some time in the afternoon. And I will mail anywhere, so don't be shy! :-) If you don't have a blog, you are going to have to give me your email or some other way to contact you.

Thank-you for reading my quilting adventures! Good luck to everyone! :-))

Little Pouches~

One of the ladies on HGTV makes these little pouches to go with the tote bags she makes~ I loved them! They reminded me of the pouches my mom used to make for me~ one for my camera, one for my shoes (because we had to wear boots to school in the winter and change into shoes in the building), a pencil pouch and more ~ a few years ago. ;-) My friend on HGTV found this turorial on Three Bears. So I had to try them~ fun and easy!! :-) And very addicting! LOL :-))

Hope you are having some sewing fun this weekend too!

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!! :-)

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
