Purses...

Judy had another Quiltathon this week, but the only thing I actually quilted was the body of these purses. ;-) The pattern is by Lazy Girl Designs and it's called the Miranda Day Bag. I thought they'd look cute out of 'travelling' fabric. The photo really doesn't do them justice... much cuter in real life! LOL It was a fun diversion from quilting, but now I need to get back to work!

Have a happy day!

Quilt top together....

Can you believe 2 posts in one day!? I can't either!! LOL :-)

I was in a string block swap and got my blocks all together into a top yesterday. It is just the perfect size for a special baby I know! ;-) Hopefully I can get a few more things caught up this week and then get this quilted. I haven't quite decided if I want to SID or do something else... I don't have a longarm or midarm, it'll be done on my little ol' sewing machine. Hmmm, decisions, decisions! What would you do? Any suggestions for me?? I'd love to hear your comments!

Happy stitching!

I Won! I Won! :-)

Bingo~Bonnie hosts the biggest and best FQ bingo game on the HGTV quilting message board. This year I knew I was going to be out of a town during the game, so I didn't sign-up, but a Special Someone sent in 5 FQ's for me! Well I played those 5 cards and just had a ball! I wasn't anywhere near winning anything when I went out of town, so I didn't even worry while gone. When I got back, the game heated up. I went for almost a week needing just one more number on one card... and the rest of my cards were quickly catching up! The weekend was torture! because she didn't call any numbers on Sunday. I was sure someone would win on Monday... but no one did! And on Tuesday it was getting a little painful to even check the board, I was sure someone would be calling bingo... and someone did! Me! :-) Along with about 7 other ladies! LOL Since she had divided us into 4 groups, it meant there were 2 winners in each group. My 'take' was 286 of a record 2332 FQ's! They arrived yesterday, and boy have I been having some fun!! I still have to pinch myself~ I can't believe I won and I have the proof right here! LOL! :-) Just look at all these FQ's! There are definitely a few quilts in my future~~ :-)
Have a happy evening!

Making raggy's..

Finally finished another for a HS graduation gift! Just one to go... :-) My sewing machine has been working like crazy lately as I try to get caught up on all my projects. ;-) This is the front, and the other one is the back. I like how the back kind of makes a little pattern when you turn the blocks certain ways. The pattern is by Evelyn Sloppy and I found it in an old issue of Traditional Quiltworks magazine. I love old magazines! If you click on the photo's, they should open bigger for a better look.
Happy Stitching!!

Spreading the word about quilters...

Niki invited me to join 'Quilters, Get Listed!'~ a group of blogs about quilting. You can click on the photo in my sidebar to see the list of quilt blogs. It's fun to browse around and see what other quilters are up to, but beware~ you may end up spending lots of time in the computer chair!! LOL :-))

Has it been a Week?!

Since I last posted??!! I guess that's right. I've been busy, just not quilty-busy. My kiddo's had their wisdom teeth removed last week. They are both doing great and I'm so happy to have this behind them! :-) We thought we'd test the 'misery loves company' saying, but neither were really miserable~ yay!! Now we are looking ahead to prom, graduation and summer plans! ;-)

I have lots of little projects in the works this week. One is to get this quilt marked. My Mom made the top as a birthday gift for me. It is candle-wicking. I found a big back that looks great with it, and a stencil for some of the marking. Now I just need to find a little time!

Thank a veteran today! I did.

Happy stitching~~

I Should be Sewing...

But instead I am playing with blocks! ~And not even the blocks I should be sewing together! I need to get back to the denim/flannel quilts. :-/ I just had to lay out these blocks to see how they would look together. I was in a swap where we each made 2 blocks for the other participants and mailed directly to each other. It was fun, but now I've got all the blocks... mail is going to be boring again. Maybe tomorrow I will get myself back on track...

*and blogger is still uploading my photo's sideways! Why???? Okay, I think I figured out why... I need to make sure when I resize them that they are longer than they are wider. ... I'm a little slow. Forgive me. ;-)

Happy sewing!~

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
