Welcome to the second day of the 'It's a Dogs Life' Blog Hop! Thank you to Carol @justletmequilt  for dreaming up this fun hop!

 The Challenge--

Sew your project with dog themed fabric or applique/embroidery of dogs.
As an added challenge, if dogs don't ring your bell, think vintage.
Vintage blocks, quilts, fabrics, or whatever old designs makes you happy.

I went with 'think vintage'. :-) I love vintage fabrics and quilts! This quilt is very special to me, although it is quite worn. It was hand pieced by a family cousin and hand quilted by my Mom & paternal Gran.  My Mom never told me exactly which cousin (I think it was a cousin of my Grandmothers) and now, of course, I wish I had pressed her further.  :-/  I know she was on my Mom's side of the family and never married. So the quilt top languished in a box until my Mom rescued it after the cousins passing or from the cousin's sister~ I'm just not sure.

I absolutely love all the prints used; how some have completely faded away, and finding a little person in a print is just the most fun!!!  Do you love 30's fabrics too?

I have been collecting 30's fabrics for quite some time and have a quilt top almost together~ maybe I will be able to finish it this winter. Cutting piano keys for the borders is taking much longer than I thought it would! :-o

Please make sure to visit my fellow bloggers today~

Wedding ring quilts always make me smile. I can't wait to see the quilt you are working on, when it's done.

Your vintage quilt is a real treasure and the wear it's showing is part of the value in my opinion. It's beautiful. I have a weakness for those 30s prints too. They are bright and cheerful.

This is a gorgeous vintage quilt and such a treasure! It's great that your mom rescued it. I remember my grandmother having quilts like this and some of the fabrics were from old clothes or leftover fabric. My mom would do the same thing in her quilts. Thanks for sharing this beauty!

This is a quilt that soooo reminded me of the double wedding ring that I received and that was made by my grandmother. Only thing different was that yours has a white background and mine has light yellow. So special.

I've made a double wedding ring quilt by machine and had someone else quilt it and thought it an awful hard process. I can't begin to imagine the work that went into your beautiful quilt.
Even though you can't get exact info on the creator at least you know that it was made in your family and that is a good something to hang onto,

Thanks for sharing the double wedding ring quilt. It's a beauty.

Coming across quilts like this with no clear idea of where it came from makes me want to scream to all of us current quilters "Label your Quilts." Sorry for the rant!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
