My Next Project

 Hello! and welcome!!

Today I want to tell you a bit about my next project as a Pineapple Fabrics Ambassador.

For the last couple projects, I chose the fabric and pattern. This time I asked them to surprise me. :-) I love surprises! And they sent this beautiful bonus quarter bundle of Calendar Girls by Anne Keeman Higgins.

It was love at first sight!!

Do you know about Pineapple Fabrics bonus bundles?

They cut the fabric larger than a FQ by 3 inches! :-)

It is wonderful!

The first thing I do after admiring and petting my fabric... what? you don't pet your fabric?! :-o

I do! Then I open all the bonus quarters and spray them with a good mist of spray starch on the back.

I fold each into quarters to let it absorb the starch and continue to spray and fold all of them. Then I go back to the first one I sprayed, because it has now had plenty of time for the starch to absorb, (not sit on top of the fabric) and start pressing.  All the fold lines have magically released. If the fabric is going to shrink, it does that now. And I end up with a nice stack of well pressed, stiff but not paper stiff, fabric~ ready to cut. :-)  It makes cutting and sewing so much nicer!  I had a lady tell me I was crazy when I told her what I do. :-) Do you think I am crazy? :-) LOL

As I mentioned in my previous post, Pineapple Fabrics has sent me a little bag of goodies for one of my readers. I plan to take the comments from this post, along with the next two posts in the coming week, put them all in a hat and draw a winner. If you comment on each new post, you will have more chances of winning. ;-) ;-)

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!

This sounds like an easier and quicker way to prep fabric, eliminating the prewash! Kate Theo

Your new fabrics look fun and bright! I am not a starcher but a lot of people seem to be doing that these days. Can't wait to see what project you come up with next! You're always full of fun ideas. I finished my son's graduation quilt! Yay! Now I am putting my Chicken Salad quilt by Lori Holt together. We laid out the middle today. It is looking really cute! I hand blanket stitched around the chickens. They have lots of personality according to my daughter. :-) Have a great day! K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com

What an interesting method, I'm going to give it a try.

I find this interesting as well. As a fairly new quilter, I’m for anything that makes cutting easier and nicer looking.

I haven’t heard of folding to absorb starch. Thanks for this hint. Will give it a try next week when I use a bonus quarter pack from the warehouse sale to make bowl cozies.

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
