Are you as shocked as I am that it is June already??
Where did May go? :-)
For me, it was spent cooking~ DS is home from college. LOL
I forgot how important meals can be! ;-)
And I did get some sewing done, but not much~
more time was spent outside with my flowers. :-)
I finally caught myself up with Pam Buda's Market Day Sew-Along.
This is Steps 5 and 6~
As I was doing the HST's I snapped a photo of a quick trick.
When I only have a couple HST's to do, I cut the squares and draw the line
and sew on either side. I'm sure you probably do that too?
But, I keep a big nail file with my sewing supplies for this step~
It works great to hold the fabric to draw the lines. No wiggling out from
under the ruler at the corner. :-)
Do you have some things that don't necessarily belong in your sewing box, but
work great? I'd love to hear your tips and hints!
Happy June!!

I haven't even started this one. I have the little sandpaper dots (hardware store)on my favorite smaller ruler to hold my tiny bits of fabric, but I like the idea of the emery board.
Oh that nail file is a terrific tip. I have a very long set of cooking chopsticks. The are handy dandy for "poking" corners that you can't get to with a smaller turning tool. I don't use them super often but they are there when I need them.
I'm so happy Summer is here. I can't wait to be able to not set the alarm clock.
Nifty trick with the nail file:-)
I am so glad June is here. I just need some uninterrupted sleep;-D
Love your blocks and the nail file idea is awesome!
What a great tip...thank you so much for sharing...I'll be getting a long nail file for the sewing room😄
Great tip, I might have to add this "tool" to my sewing room.
Unfortunately I haven't any tips to share.
I use a piece of sandpaper underneath to prevent my fabric from shifting when I'm drawing lines. I'm sure there are any number of items in my sewing room from elsewhere in the house. My favorite though is probably blue painter's tape.
Bet you're glad to have your son home for the summer and he's happy for your cooking! Loved catching up a bit, you've been sewing so many wonderful things! Love the little monster bag! And, thanks for the great tip - I can't wait to give that a try.
