A few months ago~ goodness how time flies!~ anyway,
Sue from Quilt Times was looking for a little help to test a few new patterns she was working on.
I was sent the pattern 'Colour Boxes'.
It was love at first sight! LOL I had this dolphin fabric that I wanted to make something for my DD with~
and this was the perfect pattern! :-)
I love when happy things like that happen! :-)
Nothing is crooked~ it is my photo taking abilities that are a bit off. :-o
Sue's pattern is fantastic. The cutting guide is easy to follow and takes you through the making of each block, which direction to press your seams, and what each section should measure when you have it together. So if you make a little error, you will quickly catch it! ;-)
I strayed from the pattern just a little bit at the end because I thought my boxes needed a little 'pop' of color.
I used Kona 'Lagoon' for that small inner border.
I have an all over ocean waves design that I am planning to quilt as soon as I can
get a bit warmer day to be in the cottage.
This quilt will be a Christmas gift for our DD~ and it feels great to know
it is only April and I have one gift I can cross off of my list! :-)
Thank you Sue!
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

very interesting design. it looks 3-D and showcases that dolphin fabric perfectly. I think the bright narrow border was an ideal way to pick up the colors.
So cute! I love your take on Sue's pattern
Love the pattern and great fabrics you chose to play with this. That little lite blue inner border does set it off nicely.
Love the 3-D look. I love the pattern and the colors are so pretty.
it really looks great Sandie. I'm looking forward to seeing it quilted too, your idea for the quilting pattern sounds perfect. Thanks for all your help, I really appreciated it.
