Remember awhile back I told you something was in the mail, but I couldn't show you yet? I made a purse and matching wallet for my Auntie. And since I know she checks my blog~ hi auntie!!~ I didn't want to show it until she received it. ;-) When we were visiting home in June she asked if I would make her a purse. Since I have never seen her carry a purse, I really had to think about what she might like. She wanted to be surprised. ~that's almost as scary as reading 'quilt as desired' in a pattern! LOL Cyndi came to my rescue without even realizing it. :-) She had made a super cute purse for me last year, so I asked her about the pattern. It is called the Mini Messenger by Darci Wright for Quilts Illustrated. I did change it a wee bit and added a magnet closure and changed the handle to match mine from Cyndi. After I finished it, I decided it needed a matching wallet. Cyndi designed this wallet, she hasn't published a pattern...yet. ;-)
I'm glad I got it mailed off quick or I might have loaded it with my things! ;-)
Have you been following along with the Summer Star Sampler from Temecula Quilt Co? I finally got caught up~ and tomorrow block four comes out! They were very quick and fun~
Thanks for stopping by~
I'm off to get back to work.
Have a happy day!

Sandi, your bags are just so sweet. Love your star blocks...I had meant to join in but time keeps running out on me. As it did yesterday...I too missed the Thimbleberries Sew Day...my project is gathering dust...maybe next month!
Fabulous!
I'm sure your aunt will love them!
Beautiful bag Sandi! I bet your Aunt just loves it....and a wallet too!!!
I saw it and they are both loverly!! Nice work.
Sandie, both the purse and the wallet turned out sooo cute...I'm sure your Aunt loved them! And don't you like putting in the grommet for the handle instead of just the 'same old, same old'? I love doing that! And, IMHO, any bag needs a magnetic closure...I can't imagine making a bag without one!
Also love those star blocks. I so wish I had time to do those, but I'm already five or six projects behind...and none of them are for me, so I'd best get going on them first!
Have a great evening!
XOXO,
Cyndi
A new bag and a matching wallet... that's a perfect project for the summer! I have been wanting to make those blocks from Temecula. I guess I am almost 4 behind now!
These star blocks are so cute Sandie! I hope to sew mine soon :)
