Yikes!

We had a great wind last night and my plans of sewing today were interrupted. :-/  The cable was out until just a few minutes ago, but the power stayed on~ yay!  BUT~

We lost a pine tree.  We were lucky it didn't damage the roof of the cottage, just the rain gutter got crinkled .  DH and I spent all morning picking up branches and we trimmed this so it is off the roof now~ but there is much more work to be done. I guess you know where I'll be~~

Stitch a stitch for me! ;-)

That is always scary, we don't have any big trees near the house, but our neighbors pines would hit us, if they ever fell over. Glad nothing was damaged and everyone is ok.

Scary! Good your cottage wasn't majorly damaged, but how sad to loose a pine tree. Some of those wind storms we experience up here this past year are getting stronger that they were before... All the world's weather systems are changing... Good and bad...
Take care! 8-)s

you were so lucky your home wasn't damaged badly. Trees make such a loud noise too when they fall - several years ago we had 7 pine trees fall in the woods just out of the backyard down in the woods - we heard it from the house during the storm and were so lucky they fell towards the woods and not the house - if they had fallen the opposite direction it is possible they would have hit the house they were so tall. (straight line winds not a tornado)

That is scary - glad that it didn't do much damage. We had high winds and power outages too - but no trees down nearby.

Glad you weren't in your quilting cottage. It would have been scary. Nice here again- in the 50's.

Man, we just lost a tree on Veteran's Day. Amazing when you think a day is gonna go one way, and it gets turned around on you... Glad no one was hurt at your place, too!

We came down the gorge on sunday and the wind was awful then. So glad we didn't wait till Monday to make our trip home. The pickup was not like pulling that 5th wheel in that stuff.

Our neighbor had a Very Large fir tree that was hit by lightning a few years ago and I'll never forget the sound when it was hit. I was always afraid it would come down on our house. They finally cut it down last summer. So glad you didn't get a lot of damage from the tree.

Now the weather man is saying snow right down close here. Not ready for that stuff just yet, had enough of it the last couple of weeks while camping and hunting in eastern Oregon. Take Care

Oh Sandie!! What a shame!! Just think, a little closer to Christmas and you would have a ready made tree to use!!!! ;-)
On the more serious side of things, I am so glad nothing was badly damaged!! You do not need a hole in the roof of the cottage - uh uh, no way!!!! Moisture can just stay out!! And I am so glad no one got hurt either! Trees are beautiful, but when the fall, the fall HARD!!!
I will stich a stich for you - a few actually as I work on my last backing!! Stay safe and stay warm!!

Thank goodness it did not cause damage to your cottage. It's a bit too close for my liking though. Yikes. Hugs. Tammy

Your poor tree! It certainly was a near miss with the damage it could have done. I'd say that you were lucky!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
